Question about Dell Inspiron 5100 Wireless Mini-pci Network Card Card - P0906
We have two new Dell laptops, each with a 5100 wireless card. I have a new D-Link wireless N router. Router seems to work fine with our desktops/PS3/phone/old laptop (and if hard-wired to the new laptops).
With the newer laptops though we have problems with them not connecting to the network. With one this resolves when it is hard-wired - you get a message saying the problem is resolved and it then works wirelessly but seems to have a problem when next started. The other has a problem with weak signal reception as well as periodically being unable to connect. It can often be dealt with by taking to a very strong signal (ie next to router) and then repairing/ disabling etc until it eventually starts.
Any ideas? Suspicion must fall on the wireless card, since all other equipment is fine
Don't wait tell you laptop is defective, at least buy a new wireless lan before its too late.
