Can Gigabyte GA-8I945PLGE-RH supports 4gb ram?

I have a Gigabyte GA-8I945PLGE-RH motherboard which supports up to 2Gb memory. Is there any ways to upgrade or force the motherboard to make it support 4Gb memory (2x2Gb ram)?

Sorry, but at the moment you can't do that. This is because the BIOS is programmed to manage only 2GB memory. I searched for BIOS upgrade to resolve the memory issue but with no luck. At the moment your motherboard supports only 2 GB RAM.

Hello you can download the manual, and drivers here:

You can add a graphic card 1 x AGP slot (8x/4x-AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only.
And Max capacity: Up to 2GB DDR400 RAM by 2 DIMM slots.

ATI/AMD makes very good graphic cards.

Adding a graphic card on the mainboard will not slow the physical memory. It has it`s own ram.

Good luck

Hi, you can download a manual here:

Your mainboard supports:

Type: Dual Channel DDR 400 / 333 / 266 support
  1. Max capacity: 2 GB
  2. DIMM slots: 2
* Due to standard PC architecture, a certain amount of memory is reserved for system usage and therefore the actual memory size is less than the stated amount.

Its maybe a setting in the bios or you missing a driver that causes the problem.
Or one of you ram modules is defect.

I am buy ram 2gb bus 800 two pcs that was 4gb bus 800 in the two slot when I rest PC;show Total memory That most be Show . How I do?

This motherboard does support 4GB RAM, however, if you are running a 32bit OS, like XP, Vista 32 and Windows 7 32, you may only see 3.5GB as this is a limitation to 32bit. If you are running 64bit Vista or Windows 7 you will see the full 4GB.
