It also gives the cutter support. Using the tool without it could cause vibration and shattering.

Makita slide compound- Saw Blade. LS0714

It seems as though the original blade was fitted without a spacer. These usually come with any new blade. It is simply a washer (usually aluminium) that fits in the hole of the saw blade and reduces the hole diameter down to the size of the flange on your saw. This is common practice. Never try and centre a blade without the correct size hole to flange size. Very dangerous. These washes are really cheap and can be obtained from most hardware stores. Usually in an assortment of different outside and inside diameters to suit any circumstance. Hope this helps, cheers Bob.

It appears that you have adaptors for the blades that are the same thickness as the blades Place the adaptor in the centre and then put on the spindle and tighten up the plates onto the blade.

How do i fit reducing ring 16mm bore onto a30mm bore table saw blade, to use on a draper table saw

the reducer should fit right onto the shaft, if its the right size. Mic it to ensure. Then the blade should fit on no prob. I use a 30mm to 5/8" adapter on my own General 50-185 saw. Quality(sizing) of adapter is an issue.

Need to replace a 185 mm blade with 15mm bore. All I can find is 16 mm bore blades. Does this mean buying a new saw?!

look for a bush, typically with a 30mm outer and any 30mm saw blade may then be used.

I would say it was a 2000 model, however i was never aware of any change in bore size, it was always 50mm, the piston for the European market had a single 1.5mm thick ring, the EPA piston for the US and Canada had a two ring piston 1mm thick rings, however the bore size remained 50mm as far as i knew

Blade slips and doesn't turn, but the saw keeps going

Check the blade centre bolt for corrct tightness. If you have fitted a new blade, check to see if it is the type with a removable centre spacer (multi fit type) if it is, it sounds like the centre bolt has bee overtightened at some stage and deformed the spacer which now takes all the drive from the motor instead of the blade itself. Try giving the spacer a light file to remove any burrs. If all else fails, obtain a new blade which doesn't have the center spacer to avoid this problem

Change blade miter saw

Un-plug the saw. Remove the screws holding the side saw guard in place. Look at the center of the saw blade for the nut holding it in place. Take a socket wrench that fits the nut and loosen it. You'll need to take a scrap piece of wood 2x4, and jamb the teeth of the blade into it while loosening the nut. The nut will come off first and then a washer/spacer.

Reverse the order for installing the new blade. Make sure you use the proper size diameter blade (10 inch) and mounting hole in the replacement blade. Also, use the provided washer/spacers that were on the original blade and secure the nut. Spin by hand to see if everything clears. Mount the protective guard back on. Plug in the saw and test cut .

Good luck. If you are still unsure - ask a handy neighbor to help. It takes about 5 minutes to complete this task.

Grizzly bandsaw cannot fit blade

I lowered the spacer (on the threaded rod) and got enough drop in the upper wheel to fit the blade.
