Question about ViewSonic VX910 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

It takes for ever to warm up and screen going on and off till is warm. If i keep it on all the time there is no problems. But switching it on in the morning takes about 20 min to get normal. When I bought this monitor lasted less than a year. After contacting viewsonic they agree to send me another one because first one lasted less than 2 years. This is exactly the same model but it was never knew when I got it from viewsonic. Very dissapointed with quality.

This sounds like low DC voltage in the backlight ballast or possibly faulty backlights. Check to see if the screen glows slightly in a dark room when first turned on from cold and the screen is still blank, if there is no glow then its most likely a ballast or power supply issue. hope this helps

Warm up time on a Troy-Bilt cultivator

I have a Cub Cadet 4-cycle cultivator and it takes a while to warm up as well. I assume that is the norm for those small 4-cycle engines. But it should not take more than 3-5 minutes to warm up enough to go ahead and start tilling. Unless of course you live in a fairly cool climate. In that case it may take a little longer. I live in Tennessee.

HDMI makes black screen

IT sounds like the ccfl tubes (the bulbs that help light your tv) are going out. Think about replacing them. You'd need to take it in to get this done. Also, it may be cheaper just to replace the TV entirely, given the cost of replacing the tubes.
Good Luck!

I have a 86 camaro 2.8L run good till it gets warm then die's won't start again till it cools. getting fuel and spark.

I have a 1985 Camaro and if the switch for the fan is off then it overheats. There is a fan that can be installed. My switch is on the left of my steering wheel. Tune up is always good. Have your alternator checked, if it's old can be a problem maybe. New spark plugs can't go wrong. Good Luck!!!

I dropped my phone in water and now i have a white screen what do i need to do to fix it?

Try this. If it functions you are lucky person.
Remove the back cover. Take out the battery. Put the opened phone in open not directly under sun. Keep it for some time, may be for 3-4 hrs till all the water/moisture dries up. Blow some warm air just to make sure that there is no moisture. Replace the battery. Fix the back cover. Switch ON the set. If it works your are lucky.

Ny nissan 1994 cefiro model has what you call hiccups when driving, fuel pump has been changed including spark plugs, change oil done, cleaned the air intake as well, still has the hiccups?

Did you change spark plugs wires? fuel filter? I do not know if your car has MAF sensor, but if it does, clean it. Use CRC- Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner. also check Spark Plugs Gap and coil (s)

What could be causing a power hum for about 1 to 2 minutes after startup? Sony STR-DE825

Depends where the hum originates. If it is from the case, it is likely from the transformer which may rattle laminations a bit till it warms.

If it is out of the speakers, then the amplifiers MAY not be balancing till warm up... that would not be good... keep your eye on that and if it gets loud, take it for repair ASAP.

If unit is old, the filter caps may be going bad OR there may be a bad solder joint in the power supply area that doesn't contact till it gets warm... that also needs fixing ASAP.

-Dayton 3E371D NG heater unit. -problem:we asked a contractor replace iginiter, but it lights on and off for a couple of min.(maybe 5min at the beginning of the day) then it works properly.shut off &...

Hi,
A couple of thoughts... I can think of a couple of ways to take this.
1.) the fire is going on and off for five minutes.
2.) the blower is turning on and off for five minutes and the fire keeps going the whole time.

If it is 2 and the air is fairly cool in the area of the heater, this is very common. The cool air say below 60 F will cool off the heater faster than the fire warms it so the blower turns on and off. This is normal operation and do not worry about it.

Now, if it is 1, then we have more problems..if the unit is power vented then the pressure switch may be cool and erratic causing it to be crazy till it warms up.
The flame sensor may also be cause eratic operation till it gets warmed up good.
The ignitor that the contractor used to replace your old one may not be an exact match and cause erratic operation till warmed up
There could be a crack in the heat exchanger that blows on the pilot and causes problems till the heat exchanger warms up and closes the gap, or changes the air flow pattern.

As you can see I can just off the cuff give many ideas as to what your problem may be. You will have to sort through these or have the contractor come back and figure out what exactly is the problem.
I'm sorry that I cannot give you and exact cause, I hope you understand.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Continually running/heating

Coffeemakers have two heating elements: a brew element and a keep-warm element. When the water reservoir has run empty, a thermostat switches power from the brew element to the keep-warm element.

The keep-warm element will cause the thermostat to stay in this condition until more water is added [or power is cut off] which will cool it down to switch back.

However, if the keep-warm element has quit working, the thermostat may be reactivating the brew element. With no water in the reservoir, the brew element will heat up till the thermostat trips again, then cool down, etc. This cycle will repeat until power is switched off.
