(1) Loosen screw on negative ( - ) terminal clamp, lift negative cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery. This stops the positive terminal from being "live" with respect to the rest of the car.

(2) Lift plastic cover from positive ( + ) terminal. Loosen screw on positive terminal clamp, while making sure your screwdriver is nowhere near the negative terminal at all times. Lift positive cable off terminal, and put cable end somewhere where it can't touch the battery.

(3) Loosen the butterfly nuts over the clamp that holds the battery to the tray. One butterfly nut will have to come off completely, the other can stay on so you don't lose the clamp down the middle of the engine. Swing the clamp off to one side.

(4) Lift the battery out of the tray, keeping it upright at all times.

To reinstall the battery, follow the above steps in reverse order.

1978 Toyota Corona, manual trans has lost all power except headlights. All fuses intact, new battery but no power and or course no start. Starter motor has been tested and works. Any suggestions?

Question edited for clarity.

Put headlights on. Stand in front of the car. Have someone try to start. Do the headlights dim to a yellow glow worm? Put the battery onto a charger anyway.

Check all the fuses, especially the big red on on the battery lead if it has one. My Toyota does. Unusual vehicle and never seen one here in North America.

Hi, would you please guid me that where is the fuel pump fuse in Toyota Corona Ex Saloon 2.0 model 1992?

It is in the Fuse box next to the battery. Fuse 7, 10A. I think it is the only 10A fuse in that fuse box. Try this website for better information. **NOTE** ONLY replace the fuse with new one of the SAME Amp rating, NEVER higher or lower.

Air Condition

The low-pressure side recharge valve was changed with the conversion to 134 so it is nearly impossible to use the wrong stuff.

I found this discussion that indicates your car requires R-12 if it has not been converted:
