Question about Toshiba Satellite LP154W01 Notebook
Replaced mother board due to ac adapter problem -
Now laptop has two major issues -
1) system will sometimes freeze up and have to be turned off -
and when turned on then -
(a)- sometimes video display does not come back up
(b) - to add to frustration - the power off button sometimes will not work - so unit has to be unplugged form power source
And - 2) will powered up the unit will suddenly turn itself off as if switched off
First clean the fans out - these get clogged pretty easily.
If it gets stuck where you cant turn it off - hold down the power button for 5 seconds.
Hopefully the system hasnt been overheating for so long it has damaged the CPU or motherboard.
If the fans are clean and it still does it, you may have a bad stick of ram or the mainboard you bought may have problems.
I would inform the company you got the mainboard installed that it is having problems right away in case you dont have much time left in warranty.
