Question about Garmin Nuvi 255 GPS Receiver
Any guides how to open the Nuvi 255 up without damage? Seem to be no screws. Also which battery is needed?
Remove the sticker on the back of the Nuvi 255 showing your serial number. Below it (I'm told) are two screws. Not sure the type. But if you feel your finger across the sticker on the back of the Nuvi 255, you can feel there are two depressions on either side that indicate to you that there are screws being covered by the sticker.
Mobile phone repair tools often come with a plastic prying tool, so if you need something to pry the plastic covers apart without damaging the edges of the casing, buying a mobile phone repair kit for a couple of bucks seems like cheap insurance. After you've unscrewed the Nuvi 255, you can use one of the plastic pry tools it contains.
It's such a sad state when companies design things without removable batteries, and they will never be rewarded by me for doing this.
