Write protected error using Sandisk card in Digital Concepts CR-75 Reader

The Sandisk card is in the unlocked position, but I still get a "write protected" error trying to copy jpegs from my PC to the 1 GB card in the above-referenced reader/writer. Any suggestions?

Bought the same card reader today at Radio shack. Same issue with 3 different SD cards. However the reader works fine reading/writing with a Memory Stick Pro Duo in the MS slot.

Try a different reader if you can - laptops comes with an SD reader sometimes. Or take it to a computer store or possibly radio shack would have one open to test.

Or just replace the card - 1gb cards are $20 now.

"CARD LOCKED"-just downloaded pictures from memory

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

It's easy enough for the switch to get moved accidentally, especially when inserting it into a card reader or a camera.

look at class speeds, older card readers will not be marked or will be a 2 or 4 class, most new cards are 4-6 class or more

Digital Concepts CR-75-p says there is no disk in the drive

1. Is the card supported by the card read?
2. Have you install/uninstall any software recently?
3. Is there any red or yellow alert in your device manager? If so, go an check if it is card reader related.
