Question about Hitachi Televison & Video

1 Answer

Keeps shutting off. Will not stay on. I think it is the auto protection system. Sometimes it will stay on for 10 to 15 Minutes, but most times it shuts back off in about 30 seconds. Is there a curcuit braker that can be purchased and replaced by me. Everything else is working to prefection.

Hi, I have a 50v715 and it did the same thing. Turned out to be the lamp. So, you might try replacing the lamp to start with. Hope this is helpful.

When i lock the doors the central locking will open them again and sometimes the stay closed abot 5 minutes till 1 houer

depending on what year make and model your vehicle is there are a few general possible causes. if the dome light stays on the whole time between you locking the doors and it auto unlocking, this usually indicates a faulty door pin switch, where even though the door is closed, the system thinks it's still open. or if it's a newer car there's a possibility the vehicle thinks the key is still in the ignition which could indicate any fault from a bad wire somewhere, to a bad body control module. and it's always possible that your security system module is faulty.

System keeps shutting itself off every two minutes.

It could be that your system is activating thermal protection or short protection (low ohm). Perhaps there is poor airflow around the unit. If not, check the speaker wire for any shorts (wires touching) or crimps. Try disconnecting all the speaker wires from the unit and reconnecting them one speaker at a time. Wait long enough to see if the unit shuts off before connecting another pair of speaker wires.

My laptop keeps shutting down at random times. I

Computers may not be smarter than people, but if they’re designed properly, they will shut themselves down before overheating to the extent that they do themselves damage.

If the smart person keeps turning the notebook back on and figures out a way to foil the protection, the laptop is probably doomed. Once a laptop shuts down for thermal event protection, it may refuse to power back up for a fixed period of time, five or ten minutes, or it may begin to boot and shut down immediately as soon as it boots to the point that it can figure out that its too hot.

The over-temperature protection is generally a BIOS rather than an operating system function, so one sign of an overheated laptop is one that shuts itself down while you’re using it and then refuses to boot as far as the operating system unless you leave it alone for an hour or so to cool down.

Unless you’ve been working in a very unfriendly environment, high temperatures, direct sunlight, etc, you should take even a single overheating shutdown as a warning to back up your data at the first opportunity and to give the cooling system a serious cleaning.
Good luck

Power turns off

Protect mode will kick in whenever a fault is detected.

You get the unit not powering up, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that is the protection switch that keeps shutting down the unit.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Security System on 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

Try turning the ignition key on to the run position but do not start it leave it this way for aprox 10 minutes. The security light should do something after this amount of time. For example if it is flashing it will go off or stay on some cars are different then others. What this is doing is relearning the key resistance. If it does not work the first time try it again. It sometimes takes several tries.

IBM Think Pad T22 auto -shut down a few minutes

Try running it without the battery. Sometimes an IBM battery can develop a short and cause this. If it still does it without the battery, I'm afraid it's the power management chip on the motherboard, and the motherboard will need to be replaced.
