Gears stripped. can I buy the timer unit

Gears stripped. can I buy a replacement timer unit?

The PB912M10 timer clock motor is not sold separately. Aug 2010.
If power pack transformer still works: buy cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and plug power pack into cheap timer.
With receipt, power pack might still be under warranty.

They can but economically depends on the value of the unit and the make and also if the parts are avalible to buy. Normally the gears can be replaced by buying kits offline. The gears are normally attached using a Cir-clip round ring holder or a split pin, should be straight forward repair.

My shredder only cuts the bottom tip of the sheet and makes a high pitched sound. The company website says in its troubleshooting section that the gears may be stripped or worn out. Does anyone know how...

Personally I would upgrade and would buy cross cut for better results and to prevent from this happening to the new unit regularly lubricate the feed opening. To replace gears isn't difficult. The tricky part is finding the right replacement. Best of luck

Pool pump clock

T104M used WG1573 clock motor:
The timer mechanism has metal gears, while the clock motor has plastic gears. If the metal gears get dirty and bind, it will strip the plastic gears.
Turn off power, pull timer out of box, Clean out timer with compressed air, and spray WD40, add a bit of white grease to lever where trippers make contact, then replace clock motor ... and buy another set of trippers to have on-hand since they are designed to wear down so timer will last longer.
If timer body is broken so dial does not rotate, then buy new T104 and snap new mechanism into old box. Buying whole T104 with enclosure is cheaper than buying T104M mechanism only.

My power strip, that I paid good money for about 7 years ago, is now vibrating and making a noise during the night time. Obviously, this is when it is not in use and does not seem to have the problem...

Question posted under analog power strip.
Analog timer has small clock motor.
When the plastic motor gears wear down, the clock begins to make noise.
Might not hear the noise when TV is turned on.

To get analog timers to last longer, be sure to keep timer in dust-free environment so nothing clogs the gears.
I don't know how to take apart this timer without breaking it.

The timer on my ML300RTW has stopped working. I have 120Volts of power to the box and can manually turn on / off the lights.

The timer module is not sold separately.
Some people report taking apart the module and cleaning gears.
Others report the gears are stripped.
Probably easiest to buy cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and plug power pack into cheap timer.
These timers have a warranty with sales receipt showing date of purchase.

The clock motor appears to have stripped a gear. The top several gears are turning, but not the lower gears. The unit is a year old. Can I purchase a new motor? Thank You

From what you are saying I don't think you need a new motor I think you need to replace the unit itself.
To answer your question you can purchase a motor from intermatic the last time I checked they are about half the price of a new timer. Good luck and thank you.

My HB31R runs slow. Is there any adjustment ability to the timer mechanism to achieve a correct 24 hour timer.

HB31R heavy duty 1800 Watt outdoor plug-in timer is one-piece unit that does not come apart for repairs.

Usually with these mechanical dial timers, when the clock motor starts getting weak, the timer dial starts to stall when tripper meets on-off lever.
And then timers runs slow.
At this point, the little plastic gears are getting stripped out, or the clock motor is overheating.
In either case, the clock motor is spiraling downward.

If this is new timer, take it back.
If this is older timer, the manual and fact sheet do not show a warranty.
New HB31R on ebay for $15

Woods makes 1200 Watt outdoor timer, but lighter weight than Intermatic:

With larger heavy duty outdoor timers like the Intermatic T-101R outdoor 120Volt timer, you can buy the clock motor separate and replace when clock goes bad. And you can buy the trippers separate. However T100 series timers are not plug-in, they are hard-wired. T-101 is made to last 10-15 years, but cost $60-70. My local Lowes sells them in stock for less.

I have a tp104 p3 intermatic timer and the clock is not working it looks like the motor for the gears are working but the clock will not turn

Motor has plastic gears.
Timer wheel has metal gears.
If metal gears are not turning, and clock is turning, plastic gears are probably stripped.

And metal gears might be dirty and rusted.
Look close where plastic and metal gears meet.

2 solutions:
1) clean metal gears and replace clock motor
T-104 takes T-100 series 208-277V clock motor
Add a bit of white grease where trippers meet metal lever
Grainger sells parts.

2) buy new T-104 and swap out insides without changing box

My gears are moving, but the clock will not rotate. Consequently the pump needs to be manually turned off/on. I think something is stuck or one of the gears that helps the clock run is damaged or broken....

Yes, you can pull the whole guts right out of there...
but you are correct... the gears are stripped in ther... happens all the time...
I would just buy a replacement here

then just pull the guts out of your and replace them with these... just remeber to mark the wires and kill the power first... then you won't get fried and the new one will work the first time...:-)
