    it's a protron lcd tv,

    PLTV-32m,

and i also got another protron tv, however when i tried using it's power wire, ( which also comes with a black box in the middle of the wire, or actually it's two wires, one going from the outlet to the black box, and another from the black box to the tv it self. ) the place where i had to plug it into the tv, does not fit, they are different shapes!

The only viable option left the way i see it, is to buy a new power wire!!! But where??

    Please help me out!

You can get a replacement from eBay at a very resonable price. Much cheaper than ordering from manufacturer!

Can I run 110 /14 2 from a light switch down to power a 110 plug receptacle

Hi Don,

Shut the power off.

Inspect the switch.

If the switch has two cables (2 black & 2 white wires) which would indicate that power enters the switch on one cable and supplies the light through the switch on the other cable, you can supply a new outlet so that it can be on all the time or controlled by the switch. Either way, you'll need to run a 14/2 cable from the new outlet to the existing switch box. Connect the bare ground wire to all the other bare ground wires by adding it to the bundle in a wirenut; and connect the white wire (neutral) to the other two whites under a wirenut.

Power back on.

Using a meter or tester; carefully determine which of the black wires on the switch is "on" all time and which is turned "on and off" by the switch. Indicate which is which on the wire with tape, or other marker.

Power off.

Remove the wire you want to supply the outlet.

Cut a short (8" or so) length of insulated (black, red or blue in color) #14 copper wire & strip 3/4" off each end. Combine one end of this short wire, the original switch wire, and the black from new 14/2 cable together under a wirenut..

Connect the other end of the short black wire to the switch and put everything back together again.

Power back on.

The outlet will either be on all the time - or turn on and off by the position of the switch. You're done!

I hope this helps - if it was not the answer you were expecting, please describe how you want the switch, light & new outlet to work in greater detail.

Okay, I have the same problem... It is a cooper combination switch. There are two black wires that are coming out of the back . the instructions don't mention them at all. I am installing a new outlet...

Ok you have GFCI combination switch-plug.

Wires coming out of back of device are connected to "Load" wires.
Load are the black and white wires that go to fan, light, motor.

The black and white wires coming from circuit breaker connect to terminals marked "Line"
Look at back of device for markings.
Black wire from breaker goes to brass screw, white wire goes to silver screw.

There is one more set of screws on device. Device usually arrives with tape over these two screws.
This is what those screws are for: If you are working in a junction box, then three cables enter box.
One cable is for Line wires from breaker box.
Second cable goes to Load (light-fan-motor) that is controlled by switch.
Third cable goes forward to another switch or outlet >> and those wires connect to last set of screws on combo device. Black to brass and white to silver.

I have power in 14/2 and 14/2 out to light. how do I wire the switch. I tried putting whites together and blacks to switch but it doesn't work.

Your breaker is not tripped.
Your light bulb is working.
You have a working on-off switch that has two brass screws and a green ground screw.
That is a single pole switch. Black wires go on either brass-colored screw, and whites are twisted together.
If switch has 3 screws and ground screw, connect black wires to dark-screw and one of the brass screws.

First you should test your wires.
You have 2 cables.
Both cables have black, white, and bare copper ground wires.
One cable goes to light.
Other cable comes from breaker box.

Cable from breaker box has black-hot wire and white-neutral wire.
Turn on power and test black wire to white, and then test black wire to ground.
Tester should light up with both tests.
If tester does not light up, then breaker is suspect, or there is a short in nearby box.
Track back the short towards breaker, going one box at a time, each time testing black to white and black to ground.

Next, inside the switch box, remove the switch and connect both cables without the switch.
Black to black
White to white
Turn on power, does light turn on.
If light turns on, your switch is suspect. Connect new switch. One black wire to each brass screw, and then tie white wires togethr.
If light does not turn on, your light is suspect. Open light fixture and test black to white and black to ground again.

If light tests with power, then check your bulb
If light has no power, then wire between switch box and light is suspect.

Power comes from light to switch.want to wire in another switch (same box) to operate another separate light

OK .. for this to work, you would need to confirm that the power cable is also in this wall box. So in that wall box you need the existing power cable, the existing light cable, and a new light cable. All the cables being 2 wire with ground. Then just jumper the black power wire top the new switch, and connect the new light , black wire to the switch, the whites will all be together ..
If there is only one cable in this wall box , then the power is run to some other box and you need a neutral for the new light. That may mean rewiring the power tyop get it to the wall box, or rewing the new light to get power from it.

I have a plug outlet that's powered by a three

Red wire is the live wire, black wire is the dead wire, white wire is the earth wire.
Now its the black and the red wire we are to play with. take a two wire cable, let the wires be red and black in the new cable, connect the red and the black cables of the new cable to the corresponding red and black wires of the old cable i.e. the new cable is to be connected parallel to the old cable(the connections can be made by ripping the old cable from any point) now connect a switch to the other end of the red wire. attach the terminal of the bulb to:
1) the the other terminal of the switch
2) the other end of the black wire

i am attaching a picture for your assistance.ffa4dce.jpg

Given a bench grinder which did not work. How to test/fix?

I cleaned all the wiring connectors etc and used a 4-way extension cord with an i/o switch and thermal/arc breaker surge protector thingy. I had a piece of thick cable with a molded three prong plug which I had removed from a dead paper shredder (I think??) and connected the ground to the case (previously not connected) the black to the black and white to the white. I taped the connections and plugged the test cable into the extension thingy with its switch off and plugged it into the wall outlet. Then, with the grinder switch on, I gingerly switched on the extension thingy and the grinder (sans all moving parts) ie just the motor case and spindle (held securely in the B&D workmate) and viola(!) it worked fine and built up to very fast. I switched off the grinder switch and the motor slowed, taking an age to come to rest.
Then, I fitted a grinding wheel on the left hand thread end, tightened everything and retested, using the grinder switch to start it and it spun really fast.
Soooo, I guess the secure ground is an essential feature of a capacitor induction motor. I checked some old furnace motors that were "maturing" in the basement and they had no capacitor but only 2 wires...
I am now trying to remember which parts came off last and put it all back together. I plan to test it each time I put a part back...just in case. I hate it when you fix something on the bench and when rebuilt, it won't work...don't ask about the electric starter on the snowblower..not a happy puppy!
Please, pretty please and then some, do tell me if my "fix" is wrong and I could risk all kinds of nastiness.
Thanks,
Jenni.

How to remove LG LST-4100A

To remove the LST-4100A commercial control interface from the television you need to follow the commands below.

1. Power on television.
2. Press and hold "MENU" for 10-15 seconds.
3. Quickly press "2-6-6-3" and then press "ENTER"

If you have done everything properly, it will bring up a small menu in the top left hand corner of the television. Kind of a hidden menu.

4. Arrow down to the menu option that says "D Box" and turn the option to "OFF".

Now turn off television and completely disconnect the LST-4100A. In fact, throw it away. In the trash is where it belongs.

Your television will now operate like a normal television purchased from a big box store. You should run an automatic programming setup for grins upon completing.

Enjoy your new NON-commercial lcd television.
