Question about GE Refrigerators

1 Answer

My GE Profile Arctica # PSS25NGNA WW suddenly stopped cooling/freezing. Lights on the inside and outside control panels ceased to light, BUT inner door light works. I tested power and it's OK @ 120+-Vts. When I unplug then re-plug, I hear what sound like freezer fan trying to work (hum), but never quite clicks.

The main control board , located behind the refrig , behind the 8 " X 10 " panel , is your problem . One of the 120 v circuits , is shorted . You can remove the plugs from the board and remove the board . Look for burnt spots . If you do not see any , then one of the components , memory chip , diodes , modules , are shorted internally . The pt # for the board is WR55X10656 . This board controls all components of the refrig , display panels included .

GE Profile refrigerator temperature problem

refrigerators have 2 coils. the evaporator coil and the condensing coil. one is on the bottom of the fridg and one is on the back or inside behind a false panel. these coils must be kept clean or if the condensing coil cannot reject the heat absorbed by the evaporator, the box temp will stay high and if the evap coil cant absorb heat the box temp stays low running the risk of freezing
