If you are having problems with the VRO then I would just remove or disable it and mix your own fuel. It is cheaper and there have been alot of problems with those going out while the engine is running and then they sieze their engine because of the faulty VRO. Mix your fuel 50:1 and you will be able to run all day!

Evinrude 120 vro outboard floods easily on startup , could spark plugs be wrong type

No,check vro fuel pump diaphragm.if primer bulb doesn't get hard when priming is a sign of needle and seat not sealing or a hole in fuel pump diaphragm.

I have a 1987 johnson 110hp vro, while i was running it on the water i herad a few beeps comming from where the key is. then i heard a continous beep when i was briging it in to the dock. what is this?

Fully agree about VRO- but you might have a failing water pump or thermostat. So splash some water on the exhaust cover plate and see if it sizzles.
