Question about LG VX3400 Cellular Phone
The phone (LG-VX3400) is my wife's mother's phone, and she is 80 years old. She loves this phone, but she locked the address book, and we cannot unlock it. When I open the phone it displays *Restricted* on the display, but I cannot find this option in the Manual, talked with Verizon for an hour but they could not help. I even had a live chat with LG and they could not help. On the display, when you open the phone, just above the date and time is the word, *Restricted*. I even reset the phone via the menu, but it did not unlock the address book so I could make changes to the contacts. I think she accidentally locked the address book.
Couple things ... try the unlock code, hopefully it is not changed from default which is the last 4 digits of the phone number.
Do you use the backup assistant? If not, why not? Get it. It will back up the contacts list as often as you say and it is a free service. You must open an account at Verizon wireless ... go there for more details.
Lastly, if you cant get it unlocked, grit your teeth and do a hard reset. This will wipe the phone - contacts, appointments, notes, pictures. It will return the phone to factory settings.
If you dont know how to do this, contact Verizon at 1800 2 join in (I think)
If you have to hard reset, remember the back up assistant. Nice thing about this application is you can update your list of contacts on the WWW and then download to the phone. I have mine update in the middle of the night when there is no time charge.
I hope this helps you

It sounds like the phone was stolen...and the provider locked it.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
