Most of those are simple diagrams that have one ground and two hot wires. One wire will make it go up and the other down by reversing the electric motor. You can usually identify the ground by its color (black). Find you a good 12V source and hook it up to one of the other wires and see which way that the cylinder/bed moves. Hook that wire up accordingly to your switch.
