SOURCE: Moultrie I40 infrared not working

The ir gets power thru capacitors and inductors on main board.;check for loose connections, broker leeds; may have to replace ir array or main board to fix.Forget Moultrie having spares; try to buy used on as is from eBay.

SOURCE: moultrie I40 getting error code 480 and wont go into auto mode

I lightly dropped my I40,about 24" off the ground,in grass.Thought I broke it.I had a 480 code. Opened battery compartment to reset and that fixed the problem. If your lucky this will fix alot of your sensitive electronics. Kill the power for 10 seconds or so and your cured.

No night pictures

You cant see infrared flash, but it is not working. The only way to check this is with special equipment. If the unit is new, send it back.

I40 night pics are all black. can see a branch at 2 feet but nothing else

The light bouncing back from the branch 2 feet away is shutting down the flash too soon.
