Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: not able to record vocals

Make sure everything is routed correctly in Windows. Double click the speaker icon on your taskbar, go into options, click preferences. You will have the option to view playback or recording settings and levels. Select recording and click OK. This will allow you to select which inputs are active for recording.

If it still doesn't work, make sure you have Acid configured to your sound card. I am not specifically familiar with Acid, but all audio programs need to be configured specifically to the system that they're running on.

SOURCE: acid 7.0 music recorder

It sounds like the software is having trouble locating a recording device. If you go in to the settings for the application, you should be able to select/see the audio input devices. Does the device you are trying to record to show up and is it selected as the active recording device?

My microphone not working

Dear,
Hardware troubleshooting Depending on whether you are using an internal or an external microphone, follow the steps below to see if the problem is with the hardware.Show all ' Hide allcollapse_individual_default.pngTest the internal microphoneThe internal microphone is located near the top of the notebook LCD display or near the bottom of the LCD display near the hinge. Use the following best practices to capture sound more easily.
  1. Adjust the notebook screen to place the microphone in the best direction for receiving sound.
  2. Click Start , enter sound in the search field and select Sound Recorder from the list.
  3. Click Record and speak into the microphone. Save the file to an easily-accessible location, such as the desktop.
  4. To play back the recorded sound, open the file using Windows Media Player.
  5. When using the internal microphone, choose an environment without background noise.
  6. If the recorded sound does not play back, continue to the next section of this document.
collapse_individual_default.pngTest the external microphoneVerify that the microphone port and the microphone are working properly.

  5. If the recorded sound does not play back, continue to the next section of this document.
  6. If the microphone successfully records the voice, test the record function on the computer. If the microphone does not work properly on another computer or on a tape recorder, try using a different microphone.
collapse_individual_default.pngSet the default microphoneIf the external microphone is set as the default recording device, uninstall and reinstall the audio driver to change the default recording device to the internal microphone. The internal microphone should be the default recording device. To change the default recording device:
  1. Click Start , enter device into the search field, and then select Device Manager from the list.
  2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers list.
  3. Right-click the audio driver , select Uninstall from the drop-down menu, and then click OK to confirm that you want to uninstall the audio driver.
  4. After the audio driver is uninstalled, click Start , enter backup into the search field, and then select HP Backup and Recovery Manager from the list.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the audio driver.
The internal microphone is now set as the default recording device. Basic troubleshooting
The following are some basic troubleshooting tools that you can use to restore your microphone's functionality, depending on your operating system and/or software preferences. However, it is recommended that you first run the HP Support Assistant as it can scan your current system configuration to automatically determine if your notebook requires updated software and device drivers.

It doest record anything and also i cant talk on skype i could hear whoever i am talking to but they cant hear me

First test your microphone to see if it is working properly. Click on Start All Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Sound recorder and record your voice and play it back.
If it does not work, then reinstall the microphone driver and test again. When the microphone works then open Skype and configure the Audio settings.
For details on configuring the microphone in Skype, click on this link and follow my instructions :-

How do i get rid of microphone delay?

You need to adjust the buffer in acids settings. If you set the buffer too low, everything will be in time, but you will get pops and clicks in the audio. Try and find the happy medium for your system. Also be sure there are no other programs such as a virus scanner enabled or running while recording.

Depending on your sound card, there could be another solution if adjusting the buffer does not work for you.

You will then need to find a different ASIO driver that is compatible with your sound card. If you have a soundblaster, there are 3rd party ASIO drivers that you can install, and that should fix the issue.

Good Luck!

I can't hear myself when recording on sony acid 7 pro

this is a sound card configuration issue. many new pcs and laptop have the sound card configuration in the registry. many previously available functions are either turned off/disabled or just not configured.

its a slightly different solutuion between vista and XP, the screen look different.

1st open the control panel and select the sound & devices ICON.

this opens a view of tabs for the sound card.

under playback...on XP you need to select the mic or line is as an available monitor.

under playback in vista, the default playback device will be displayed. a right click on the tab area provides an option to view disabled devices.

again under vista if you double click on the playback device itself, a new set of tab views appears.

this new set may support a check box for "RecordMonitor" or it may have a tab for Input Monitor.

in either case set the input monitor on so you can hear your input while recording in Acid.

If these options are not available on your screen, then the solution will be more complicated.

You wioll need some registry expertise. rather than that thoiu, try to get the latest sound card driver, which may have the devices configured.

if not then i would need more detailed information on your hardware, sound card, driver version and operating system to help you any further.

under xp and vista you can find the registry entries you are looking for by searching for one that is more frequently there.

You could look for EnableRecMonitor or MasterVolume etc.

the other registry entries found there are fairly easy to follow to set them the way you want them to be. In some cases you may have to add the necessary registry entries, but as I said that's not that intuitive...

I recorded my guitar audio, but I am unable to hear it. What is the problem?

You might check your system sound settings for recording and playback. Often the device selected for recording is muted so that you do not get feedback.

For example, a microphone would be muted as a playback device when selected as a recorded device. This might be what is happening to your guitar audio input.
