You have to download kernel to your micro sd card.

Are you buying all the cards from the same place? A REAL R4i SDHC should show an orange loading... text, not a red menu. It looks like you're getting bad clones. The official manufacturer website for the real and genuine R4i SDHC is www.r4i-sdhc.com, any variations on the packaging like www.r4-v.com are bad clones.

If you're looking to get genuine cards for your ds like the R4 SDHC(there are fakes out there), take a look here, http://www.dscardworld.com. I managed to find this site after I got burned at a few others. Loved having my emails responded to because I had loads of questions, and they were quick to ship it. US based support and shipping I believe.

Change your ds date back before 14 april 2010. Now you can play.

Due to the fault of our R4 team,except R4(I) SDHC V2.0，all the kernels can not work normally base on the date after 14th, April, 2010. The issues are the system date error and when you booting up the consoles, you couldn't enter into the main manu. We are awfully sorry for this. The temporary solution is to adjust your system date before 14th, April, 2010. R4 team will remedy this bug with the latest kernel and do the activity to reward the consumers! You will need to get the kernel from the R4 SDHC website, because it is actually a fake card, that R4 do not want people using.

go to r4ds.com and download system files for the r4 with the new 1.8 kernell that should fix it

it may need different kernel software, mine runs kernel v1. 22 from this website, hope this helps, oh mine also stayed on loading screen until i learned that wen i downloaded the kernel software i only extracted the files inside the folder, u must extract the folder the files come in too, extract all and works, dont ask why? lol. good luk, www.r4new.cn/download-en.htm

Im not 100% sure about this...I own a R4 myself. What I do notice if you use the wrong type of SD Card(Anything above 2GB) or use it in the wrong type of R4(SDHC Kernel in a Non-SDHC Card) It tends to get stuck at that loading screen.

Sometimes you can remedy this by taking the R4 out and the sd card out and using a air can or blowing on the parts in between(inside the DS, Inside the R4) and try it and it will sometimes fix that. Also a corrupted transfer of the kernel or a bad kernel can do that too.
