Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

The DVD player is completely unresponsive

My dvd player wasnt reading the disc so i took off the cover and cleaned the laser with a cotton ball. I replaced the cover and plugged it in and this happened:
Orange Standby light is on...when I push the on/off button nothing happens...when I push the drawer open/close button the organge Standby light turns green as long as I'm pressing the on/off button.

It doesn't respond to my pushing buttons on the remote.

This is the reply on how to fix:
Check for bad capacitors on the alimentation fead target

Well there are eight capacitors of varying sizes on the only visible circuit board and i dont know what the alimentation fead target is. Also, I do not have a voltage testor. Is there another way to check and see if they are working properly?

The only way is with a voltage tester you can simply buy from a radioshack if you do not have one buy one.. You only replace the caps that are bulging or leaking.. nothing more..

Alimentation ?? that's a medical term for like feeding or nourishment ....sounds like "witch" was at it again....
No such alimentation fead target...
You can either spend $13 at Radio Shack for a laser lens cleaner disc and maybe it will work, or not.
Better yet, your time and aggravation is not worth the hassle.
Seriously, purchase a new one. Saers electronics department is always "clearing" them out. You can get a new and better one (consider Blu-Ray) for under $50. That's only $37 more than taking a chance with the cleaner from RadioShack.

Call a technology expert, or maybe it's overheated. That's all I know on the topic. I know a lot for my age, but I'm only 9.

My dvdv 6600 dvd player cannot played anymore

Hello,

If Your player used to play disc before but all of a sudden stopped playing disc, yet it powers on and try to read a disc and come up with a 'no disc' error message or loads and does not come up with any message, then it means there is a problem with the laser/lens of the player. If it does not power on at all, then it means the problem is from the power board which is inside the player.
For the no disc error message, the solution is for You to clean or replace the lens of the player.
To clean the lens, Please get a laser/lens cleaner disc and insert it into the player, that will clean it for You, but if You want to clean it manually, please follow the steps below: You will be needing a cotton bud,a cup, a screwdriver, and a glove.
  1. Turn off the player,
  2. Unplug it from the power source and wear Your glove,
  3. Unscrew the player and keep the screws in the cup in order for it not to be missing,
  4. Then You slide the cover open,
  5. Unscrew the plastic cover that holds the disc in place for the lens/laser to read it,
  6. You will have direct access to the laser/lens,
  7. Use the cotton bud to carefully clean the laser/lens which is the crystal like object held in some casing,
  8. Screw back the disc support plastic that holds the disc,
  9. Then You test it with a DVD before screwing it back together.
If that does not solve the problem, then it means You have to replace the lens, to do that, please follow the steps above to step 6, then follow the rest of the instruction below:
  1. Disconnect the flexi ribbon that connects the lens to the main board,
  2. Carefully remove the laser from where it is connected to,
  3. Replace it with a new one,
  4. Reverse the process to reassemble the player back together,
  5. Then You plug it to a power supply and test it with a disc.
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

Just watched a dvd last night - no problems at all. Put in a disc tonight and it reads no disc when when there is one there. tried different discs but get the same message. what needs to be done. my...

Open the cd tray, blow hard inside about three times. Or get a can of compressed air called air duster and blow that in there.
A third option is to remove the cover and clean the glass laser eye lens with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.

If cleaning doesn't help (which usually does) Then the laser circuit is faulty and will have to be replaced.

Tries to read DVD, but after a minute or so, a question mark pops up...what's that?

It is not reading the disc. You can remove the cover and clean laser glasse eye with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab. If cleaning doesn't work, then the laser circuit will need to be replaced.

Hope it was the non-acetone type of polish remover - acetone will melt plastic !!

Invest in a laser eye cleaning disk - the kind with the tiny brushes.

OK what type of file format are the files in on the disk you are tying to play?

IDM-1731 does not like .AVIs.

Check your documentation as to what type of files your player can actually read and play.

Sorry I'm not more help.

Dvd player not working

If the disc isn't spinning, and you have cleaned the lens (using a proper method) then it is likely that the laser has failed. The disc usually won't spin until the laser has sent/recieved a pulse from the surface of the disc. A new laser is usually about the cost of a new player.
