Hello.

Sorry, but this printer is designed to be a stand-alone (not networked) printer connected via a USB cable.

Hope this helps.

Ooops .. lost my head ... you can certainly share this printer. See Luuuunitic and ShaneLeo's answers - both good..

I would just add that the computer that is physically connected to the printer
needs to be powered on and connected to the network for the other
computer to be able to print.

For the computer that already has the printer installed on:

  1. Open up the control panel.
  2. Double-click and open printers and faxes.
  3. Right-click the printer that you want to share, choose "Sharing".
  4. The Printer's properties with the Sharing tab open should pop up.
  5. Click the "Share this printer" option, in the share name, keep the default or choose a name that you would like to refer the printer as.
  6. Then click OK.
On the computer that wants to share that printer:
  1. Open up the control panel.
  2. Double-click and open printers and faxes.
  3. Click the File menu button, and choose "Add printer".
  4. Click "Next".
  5. Select "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer" option" and click "Next".
  6. Select "Browse for a printer" and click "Next".
  7. Double-click the other computer's name, a list of shared printers should drop down.
  8. Choose the printer that you want to use and click "Next".
  9. Choose either Yes or No if you want the printer as your default then click "Next".
  10. At the last page, click "Finish" and your printer should be ready to use.

How can we install the Canon Mp190 printer? We cannot find the CD ROM. Is there any other way to install it in our laptop?

Good Day Dany!

To install the Canon PIXMA MP190 Photo All In One Printer driver, download the version of the driver that corresponds to your operating system by clicking on the appropriate link below. A window should then show up asking you where you would like to save the file. Save the driver file somewhere on your computer where you will be easily able to find it, such as your desktop. Then follow the instructions below corresponding to the file type that you downloaded.

Unable to connect to an existing shared printer thru wireless network via dlink wi-fi router using cisco wusb54gc v3, where as using the linksys wusb v1.0 have no problem. am running windows xp

I assume that the printer is connected to the wireless network, if that is that case have you tried running the installer CD for the printer on the Windows XP machine. Then at a certain step when it asks the connection type, choose shared printer or network printer.
It might be that it is not able to detect the printer because of a driver missing.

I cant plot from AutoCad 2006, using My hp

hmmm.. we only have two computers at my work connected to a router. the designjet has a network card going straight to it. i connect to the router wireless and it reads vista. my boss connects to the design jet thru the router as well with a network card rj cable with xp pro. as for our printer it can be connected via router and does work fine but my boss has it directely connected to his computer and i share it off of his system. then we also have a zerox machine connected via router as well. maybe your router is going out? try a new one or a better one and see if that fixes it. it maybe defected or time for a new one.......

if it was working before then maybe its the router.

I have an canon pixma mp480 connected to a windows xp home computer. It work fine. I shared the pinter to the network. I got the windows xp connected to that shared printer, but the windows vista computers...

Is the printer connected via USB to the XP computer?
How did you map the shared printer (ie; what port)
When you're on a Vista machine, go to Network, find thw XP computer, explore, can you access the printer through this method? I need to know if Vista machines were set up with this printer on Local Port or Connected to this machine.

Print sharing

No matter how you slice it, if you want to share the printer, you will be creating a network. If I remember this printer correctly, it has an Ethernet port to connect to a network or USB to connect ot a computer. If your router supports wired connections, you can connect it there and just inistall drivers on each device and selec tthe network option. If not, you will probably want to connect it via USB to your desktop machine and enable print sharing on that machine. Te enable printer sharing, open up the Network and Sharing Center. In the Sharing and Discovery section, turn on the option for Printer Sharing. You will still need to install the XP driver on the netbook and select the network option, but give it the proper network location (ie.\\mycomputer\this printer).

This printer does not have a network interface. There is no ip address for this printer. You must connect via usb.

I need to fax something on a Canon MX310 all-in-one printer. I'm not connected to an actual phone line, I'm on a router that I share with my roommates...Can I still fax something?

not like that. A router connects a network to the internet. It works on digital signals whilst a fax works off analog signals so the two aren't compatible. You may want to try a program called bitware which specialises in faxing via the internet. But if your printer has a fax just connect it to a phone line and then you can fax stuff.
