Re: reprinting

Hi there I am a Hp engineer and there are two reasons for reprinting.

1 The toner cartridge has become faulty
2 The Fuser unit is worn or damaged

As you have changed the toner cartridge which is the cheapest unit out of the two the other is going to be the fuser. You can buy these units and they are very easy to install. One way to check that it is the fuser is open the rear cover and remove the door. Once that is removed using the two blue tabs on the unit pinch then the unit will slide out look at the top brown roller and you will find that it is either broken or worn in the middle or simply there may be a piece of paper stuck round it or a sticky label.

If the latter remove and reinstall the unit if nothing visable then the unit will need replacing.

Hope this is some help to you and please could you rate me
Thanks J

Printing appears to reprint on other pages

I have seen several things fix a problems with reprint like yours depending on the spacing between the prints. There is a registration page in the service manual that points likely faults by the distance between reprints. This is based on the diameter of the failed part. Transfer roller, Print cartridge, and the fuser.

Ghost printing

Hi Phillip,
If you have changed the drum and toner, then check the fuser unit. The teflon coating on fuser film could be worn.

Len trying to help Carol in a panic trying to print her resume. The HP office jet 4315 All-in-one was printing and ran out of paper. Installed more paper and it wouldn't print. It's connected to an HP...

If you're in a hurry, save to disk or USB memory stick, and dash to Kinkos / Staples / Business Depot or any other copy center, to get it printed out.

If you've got time otherwise, shut printer off, then on, and try and print a test page using the buttons on the printer.

If successful, then proceed to the PC. Shut down, reboot, and check the printer status. If good, try to reprint.
