Re: Touchscreen problem..

I have the same problem on my V2000, and am not an expert, but a temporary fix that I've figured out is to touch the button above the touch pad to turn it off when typing e-mails and simply one-touch click it back on when wanting to surf. At least that stops the annoying placement of the cursor in the middle of your paragraphs as you are typing.

Re: Touchscreen problem..

Probably a bad touchpad or too sensitive settings.

Check Control panel then Mouse settings and look for sensitivity. you may want to turn off "tap to click" so at least you wont open things accidentally.

If it still is malfunctioning then the touchpad can be replaced probably $80-$120 for parts and labor.

Touch screen keeps freezing

Does the screen also freeze if you are using a mouse instead of touching the screen? If the freezing still occurs, then the problem is NOT the touchscreen. If it works OK with the mouse then you may need to have the touchscreen repaired. If freezing occurs even with the mouse the cause may be one of several. Right-click on the Windows taskbar and select Task Manager. The task Manager box tells you if your processor is working very hard (any reading that continues to hover near 100% indicates some program or process is overworking your system. Task Manager also shows a list of processes and how much cpu % each process is using. Another possibility is that to run everything you want may require more RAM memory. In general, 4GB or RAM is enough, but if you're running a lot of programs/apps at the same time then you may wish to boost your total amount of RAM to 8GB or more.

How do I use mouse instead of touchscreen on Samsung laptop

Do you have a mouse connected by cable or a USB dongle? If so, then your computer's Plug and Plug (PnP) capability to detect, install and activate peripheral device drivers will have recognize the mouse and made it accessible to you. If the mouse in not usable, look in Start, Computer, System Properties, Device Manager, Mice (etc.). If you have a Yellow Triangle, click on the mouse then the Driver Tab to Update the driver. This should solve you problem. You may have to Restart to gain access. If that doesn't work. Unplug the mouse connection, Restart the computer, then plug the mouse connection in again. Watch to see if PnP detects the connection and installs it.

Touchscreen windows xp pro

On the Panasonic Toughbook CF29,
the Touchscreen is the same as the "Mouse".

So you have to load the Touchpad/Touchscreen
Driver, not just the Touchscreen driver by itself.

The driver for the CF29 MK2 is located at this link:

I have a Dell laptop computer with Windows Vista Basic. The mouse on the screen has become very sensitive and sometimes it clicks on an item when it scrolls across the screen. How can I make it less...

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize > Mouse Pointers . The Mouse Properties settings window will open.
  2. Alternately, click Start and type Mouse in the Search field, and select Mouse when it becomes available in the program list. The Mouse Properties settings window will open.
  3. Select the Device Settings tab. Select the Synaptics TouchPad device and click Settings . In the Properties for Synaptics TouchPad window, expand the Sensitivity topic.
  4. Select the PalmCheck option to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad to avoid erratic cursor movement caused by accidental touching of the pad during normal typing.
  5. Select the Touch Sensitivity option to adjust how much finger pressure is required to move the mouse on the screen and how responsive the touchpad is to taps.

The scroll function of the touchscreen isnt

The program is usually Synaptics, look for it in the control panel under your mouse settings. When you are in mouse settings, click hardware and when you see your touchpad device, click properties. go through the setting there and make sure that scrolling is enabled by checking the boxes and there is a box that needs to checked to make sure the icon is in your task bar when windows starts. If these settings cannot be turned on, then go to start button, run, type msconfig in the text box. when the window appears, click on selective start up and go to the startup tab at the top of the window. Look for a listing that is for Synaptics or whatever the touchpad maker is and make sure that is checked to run at startup. To see the listings for all devices on the computer, go to control panel, click on system, click on hardware, click device manager, then click on the plus signs to open all the devices under each header and that gives you the manufacture, driver info, etc. double clicking on any of the devices gives all the properties info as well as enabling devices, uninstalling them if there is a problem, etc.

There is a ribbon cable between the laptop & the screen. It sounds like you have a short in that cable. If you're not good with tedius electronic repairs, it would be best to have a shop repair it.
