If you are running WIndows Vista, right click the file to install iTunes and select RUN as ADMINISTRATOR.
If running XP, you may have an account permissions issue that could be caused by several issues (Group Policy, SPyware, Corrupt profile. If you are an administrator account on the system, try creating a new account and see if program will install. If it does, your profile has issues. If it doesn't I'd try a malware scan.
If is also possible that your security software is blocking the install it you are Running McAfee or Norton Security center applications

How i can reuse the norton 360 v 4.3.0.5 Its trial period is expired. Plz send me product key or trial reseter. special thanks

Please remove the existing version of Norton program from the control panel, then go ahead and delete all Symantec and Norton files from the computer's C or D drive.

After that, open your registry and first take a back up just in case anything get deleted by mistake.
Then delete all Norton and Symantec files from HK CURRENT USER, HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, HKEY USERS, HKEY CURRENT CONFIG.

You can click on the SOFTWARE folder in each class to find the Norton files if any.
To open your registry editor, type regedit in RUN command (windows key+R)

After that you can again install a trial version of Norton for 30 days.

When I try installing Itunes half way through installing a pop up comes up saying- "Could not access network location %APPDATA%\." Can u help me fix this.

Please take note that the following steps is in assumption that you are using a Windows operating system.) As I have found out in the iTunes support in apple.com, this symptom may be caused by anti-spyware software preventing iTunes from installing correctly. One such application is SpyCatcher. Before installing iTunes, temporarily remove this software to allow the iTunes installer to complete.

If you are still having trouble installing iTunes for Windows, follow the troubleshooting suggestions described in this article.

General installation troubleshooting Important: iTunes installation is successful a majority of the time after completing these troubleshooting procedures. If one step does not resolve your issue proceed to the next.
1. Empty your Temp directory and restart
Windows XP:
  1. Choose Start > My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
  2. In My Computer or Computer, open the "C:" drive.
  3. Open Documents and Settings.
  4. Double-click the folder titled with your username.
  5. If you see a Local Settings folder, skip to step 10. If you don't see a Local Settings folder, proceed to the next step.
  6. Choose Tools > Folder Options.
  7. Click the View tab.
  8. Select the option to "Show hidden files and folders."
  9. Click OK.
  10. Double-click Local Settings.
  11. Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
  12. In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
  13. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ("System Tray") of the Windows Task bar and repeat step 11.
  14. Restart your computer.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
  1. Choose Start > Computer
  2. In Computer, open the "C:" drive.
  3. Open the Users folder.
  4. Double-click the folder titled with your username.
  5. If you see an AppData folder, skip to step 10. If you don't see an AppData folder, proceed to the next step.
  6. Choose Organize > Folder and Search Options.
  7. Click the View tab.
  8. Select the option to "Show hidden files and folders." (In Windows 7 this option will be called "Show hidden files, folders, and drives").
  9. Click OK.
  10. Double-click the AppData folder to open it. If Windows needs your permission to continue click Continue.
  11. Double-click the Local folder to open it.
  12. Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
  13. In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
  14. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ("System Tray") of the Windows Task bar and repeat step 12.
  15. Restart your computer.
2. Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime
For Windows XP, follow instructions in Remove and Reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP.
For Windows Vista or Windows 7, follow instructions in Remove and Reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista.
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
3. Install the latest version of iTunes
Once you have completed the above steps to Empty your Temp directory, Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime, and Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer, you can install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
Additional troubleshooting Make sure you have administrator-account access To install iTunes or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure if you have administrator-account access, contact the owner of the computer or your system administrator.
Get the latest Windows updates The first thing to do when troubleshooting an installation issue on a Windows computer is make sure you have the latest Microsoft Windows updates installed—to get the latest updates, go to the Microsoft Windows Update page.
iTunes and QuickTime software for Windows require Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista with latest Service Pack installed.
Disable other conflicting software In Windows, some background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent applications such as iTunes and QuickTime Player from installing. See Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP or Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista and Windows 7 for assistance disabling conflicting processes.
Additionally, some third-party security software cannot be disabled using Selective Startup (MSConfig). Because of this, it may be necessary to temporarily manually disable such software while troubleshooting installation. For assistance in configuring or disabling your security software, please contact the manufacturer.
Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters If the iTunes installer (iTunesSetup) is not responding or appears frozen after launching the installer then the folder where the installer is stored may contain unusual characters. If you notice that the iTunes installer or stored in a folder like this, either rename the folder or move the iTunes installer to another location such as the Desktop before launching.
More help If these steps don't help, you may be able to find a solution to your issue by searching the Microsoft support website.
If the above troubleshooting steps have not helped, proceed to the following steps Solutions to common installation errors Here are some common symptoms you may see when installing iTunes and QuickTime for Microsoft Windows. If you are experiencing one of these symptoms, try the suggested troubleshooting steps:
If you only need to install QuickTime, or if iTunes installs but QuickTime installation did not complete Try downloading and installing the standalone version of QuickTime from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. Be sure you download the version that does not include iTunes.

My computer keeps coming up error 2328 when i go to down load itune how would i get rid of it thank you :)))

If the error code appears during the installation, then your PC's memory might not be large enough. You said a package in the question. Is that a package you specifically bought from a store? If so, contact the location you bought it from. If it's a download or upgrade, then try going onto Google, typing in iTunes 9 Download, and see if that works.

The actual error code 2328 means there was an error getting file version info for file.
Hope I helped!

- if it prompts to restart - choose restart later

-Repeat this step for removing these progrmas as well in order

I'm having difficulty installing itunes over xp media center. it seems that both xp and itunes want to grap the cd drive. Any way out of this? Also I heard that xp media centre is cp pro with some add...

I am not quite sure what you mean by saying that the programs want to grab the cd drive. Neither program should be using the cd/dvd drive unless you are using it, neither program has sole use of it. Could you clarify if you are getting an error during the installation?

No you can't install XP Pro and use the same product key that you have with Media Center. You need to purchase XP Pro if you want to install it and use the product key that comes in the packaging.

Remove file

Hi,
Here is more info on the critter:

http://spywarefiles.prevx.com/spywarefiles.asp?FXC=BHJI036815472

1) Reboot windows in SAFE mode by pressing F8 during the
boot repeatedly.

2) Use a virus remover like AVG or Kaspersky

3) Alternately remove the files manually.

4) If the files refuse to be removed, reporting a locked file
error, download a product called file unlocker:

a) unlocker1.8.5.exe or
b) who locked me from: http://www.dr-hoiby.com or
c) killbox.exe from: vbtechcd@gmail.com
d) File Assasin from:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php

5) Any of these utilities will delete the file by brute foerce
if necessary

6) Download Mike Lin's Startup monitor (all 3)

a) Control panel applet
b) Stand alone program
c) Resident startup monitor

These three utilities will allow you to audit startup keys
in your registry and automatically stop rogue programs
from installing themselves without your permission.

7) Remove all suspicious programs from registry startup
locations:

HKLM = HKey Local Machine
HKCU = HKey Current User ....

Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current_Version ...

Run, RunOnce, RunOnceEx, Run SErvice, etc...

8) Install a reputable antivirus (with a license) and keep it
up to date:

e.g. AVG, Kaspersky, McAfee etc.

9) Disable most of the resident monitor function, because
these tend to slow your system down, BUT ....

Manually scan all downloaded files BEFORE
opening them

!!!!!!!!

10) Download and install two free anti-spyware utilities:

AdAware by LafaSoft
SpyBot Search and Destroy

make sure you get these from the official sites,
beware of evil lookalikes.

11) Go to winternals WEB site, formerly Sysinternals,
and download security utilities by Mark Russinovich
(now at Microsoft)

Anti-rootkit and scanners for ADS
(Alternate Data Streams)

12) Go to F-Secure web-site, and download another anti-
root-kit utility called black light.

13) Download and install the Mozilla Firefox WEB browser,
never use Internet explorer (any version) except for
Microsoft updates

14) Install the following Firefox security plug-ins:

AddBlock Plus
ColorFul Tabs
Finkan Secure Browsing
Flash Block
Google Icon
NoScript (Very important, stops evil scripts)
Stop Autoplay

15) If you do all of the above, you will get very few viruses.
