If available, see if you can get a belt for an Astro that is not A/C equiped. The parts store should have the routing diagram. Good Luck, Ned

I'm having trouble replacing my belt on my 94 gmc 1500 the air compressor went out now I need to find out what belt I need to by pass it

Is the belt a V-Belt?

If so- then you have bolts you can loosen to
move the compressor or other accessories

If it is a single serpentine belt, I don't see the problem

If the compressor hub or pulley still turns, you leave the
compressor there & just have no a/c

The truck is too old to be spending money with bypass
kits & such, for no reason.

If the clutch hub has a locked up bearing, replace it, if the a/c
would still work?

I need a Diagram on the Serpentine belt for an 2002 Eclipse. I need to know how to bypass the AC compressor.

The compressor cannot be by-passed, but you can disconnect the compressor clutch by disconnecting the two wire connector at the compressor; then the compressor pulley is just an idler.

My compressor is bad and i was wanting to bypass the compressor with a smaller belt, what size belt do i need to get

There's probably no way to find a serpentine belt to by-pass the A/C compressor. However, the compressor only spins when the compressor clutch is engaged, and if you unplug the clutch the compressor pulley spins freely on its bearing without turning the compressor. The clutch wiring connector is usually on the compressor near the pulley.

I need to get a diagram for the routing of a serpentine belt that bypasses the ac compressor.

There is not one,but napa auto parts sells a by pass pulley to replace the ac compressor and you use your same belt,it cost about 39.00 around here.If this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

CAN THE SERPENTINE BELT BE REROUTED TO BYPASS THE A/C COMPRESSOR?

No. The bearing on the compressor can be replaced without buying an entire compressor.

2000 Chevy Cavalier making a noise when air is shut off

This problem sounds like the aircompressor pully, the bearing is shot.
With the engine running and the air conditioner off there is a grinding noise, look at the compressor pully, does it wobble? Then turn on the air conditioner and the noise stops, look at the compressor pully again, the wobble stops? If so that's the problem.

How do I by pass aircompressor

Why bother, just pull the clutch coil plug and move on. When you sell it the next folks may want A/C .I would leave it.

By-passing the a/c compressor with a shorter belt

The best way to do this is first ask the parts house to see if this car came with out air and get a belt that way. I dont think that year had the option of not havnig A/C. The other way is take a piece of rope and put it around the pullys just like you are puttin on the belt but by pass the A/C you might have to make a few trips or get a few different size belts but its the only way
