Theatre projector is unable to switch inputs in menu

This is worth a try: Turn everything OFF. Unplug all the inputs from the projector and turn them off too. Next, turn the projector ON and all the input devices ON. Then, one by one plug each input device (already turned ON) into the projector. See if this helps. I have a SONY monitor that supports multiple inputs and a few times this has worked.
Good luck.

I do not have the tv remote and can not get the "video:1" to disappear from the top right of the screen when I have the cable turned on. Any suggestions?

Greetings Cray - You didn't specify which TV or Model you have. Most TV's have a group of manual controls, on newer TV's usually on one side, which allow you to perform most functions without the remote.

One of them is is usually labeled INPUT or DEVICE. If your TV has such controls and you push the button until it comes around to the TUNER input the video:1 should disappear. Of course if you're using a cable box connected to the TV you would want to go to HDMI or COMPONENT, depending how your TV is connected to the cable box.

Good Luck and Thanks for using Fix Ya

Video input indicator remains on screen

Press the "DISPLAY" button on the remote control. This will cycle through the display choices and then turn it off.

Permanent blue haze on screen; looks like

The fact that you continue to have sound while the picture disappears points to one of three potential issues.

Issue 1: the LCD Panel.

Issue 2: The Inverter Power Boards (though these tend to cause power/shutdown/no video at startup than video distortion)

Issue 3: the Time Control Board - a small board at the top of the LCD panel on the back that relays data to the rest of the screen.

Any one of these three repairs, you should call Sony if the unit is outside of manufacturer's warranty. They are expensive to perform, and the parts are not cheap. Hopefully you have an extended warranty to help with the issue.

Video input selection remains displayed - can't get rid of it

The solution to your remote problem is to go to wal-mart and when you go through the check out lane there is usually some last minute items. there is a silver remote that is usually hanging in those aisles and that has been the only one I have found that works.
