Question about Frigidaire 24 in. FDB1050REC Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Something was stuck in the latch, which made the machine not start. I removed item, however, the lights come on, the heat comes on, bot no water or the rest of the cycle begins...help.. I have held down start/cancel and the heat dry buttons. I have unplugged the power for three minutes... I have taken the front covers off, looked through the latch mechanism but found no other issues. There is a little water left in the basin, so I checked to see if there was a clog, by blowing air into the discharge hose. Air bubbles came up in the machine...

I have a kenmore ultra 665 1627. The green front panel light blinks. And we can not run a cycle. Thanks

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff, a bad controller; but the most common problem is that 1 of the 2 switches inside the door latch is not getting engaged fully. This may be caused by something getting spilled (like a soda) into the door latch that is making it stick, or the door strike may be weak and not pressing down on the door latch hard enough. If it's the latch, you would need to take the door apart and remove the latch mechanism (unplug the dishwasher first!), remove the switches, and clean the plastic parts with water, dry it, and then re-assemble. The other thing to check is the door strike, which is supposed to push down the latch. The springiness of this metal part may be weak. You can remove that door strike, bend it down more, and then re-install it. Then you need to reset the controller by running a diagnostic cycle. Do that by pressing the following sequence of keys: Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry). You will know that you have entered the diagnostic cycle when all the lights light up for a few seconds. Let the dishwasher run the diagnostic cycle for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error.
Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.
Good luck!

417-48112701 won't spin

If there is still water in the tub, you may have something stuck inside your drain pump. The hose coming the bottom of the tub to the pump has a cup inside of it that will catch items left inside clothes. If youd can remove water, remove hose and clean the cup inside. Reinstall and that should correct the problem.

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... You say it blinks 7 times, pauses, and repeats, right? Well, 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". My clean light is blinking and it will not start

Push in this order within 5 seconds...

Sani Rinse Air Dry Sani Rinse Air Dry....if you dont have those buttons, substitute:

Hi Temp Wash Heated Dry Hi Temp Wash Heated Dry

Let it go through the diagnostics cycle, about 10 minutes. Push Cancel/Drain. If it occurs again, you have something wrong with the heater circuit. Check the heating element for breaks.

My 13 year old step-daughter tried to add something to my Frigidaire FTF2140E Washing Machine while it was in the middle of running a load. It will now not start back up. I took the wet load out and remove...

It sounds like the door latch is not working correctly. As a safety feature the unit will not run without sensing the latch is locked. Check the male end on the door first. If that is not broken then you will need a new door latch assembly.

Maytag Neptune; power on but won't start to wash

does the "door locked" light ever come on? if it does, you may be able to get away with just the wax motor in the latch assy. Usually this call requires a control board as well. A bad board can be confirmed by looking for a burned resistor on the board itself(in the console) remove the screws along the top of the console and rock the console forward. The back will remain in place with some components attached to it. there also should be a tech sheet stuck in there with some diagnostic tests on it

Yellow light comes on to heat water, but does not change to green

I would try opening and closing the disc enclosure latch-- this triggers the machine to re-read the barcode and start a new cup of beverage. If the machine perceives that water needs to be heated more, the yellow light to should flash and the cycle to green when ready. If the water is already hot enough, when you close the latch, it will flip right to green.

Give this a try.

Whirlpool dishwasher

Watch the light closely. If it blinks 7 times then pauses, this indicates a heater or door latch issue.
Press the following buttons in sequence: Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash, Heated Dry, Hi Temp Wash.
If this doesn't work, check the tech sheet. (should be stuck to inside of the bottom toe panel)

All lights should illuminate then a diagnostic sequence will start.
Listen carefully, as soon as you hear the water begin to fill, open the door and feel the heater. if cold, check the heater for continuity (should be around 10ohms)
Also, bend the door catch on the dishwasher tub downward, this will engage the door latch better. Don't bend too far as it will hit the door while closing.
