When i take my finger off the trigger it slows down to a stop, and no electric braking. It used to work. So i just took it apart to play with the trigger, but there's nothing much i can do... Do I need a new trigger? Or could it be brushes or some such thing?

There is a parking brake lever at the back, but if you're talking about stopping the scooter while riding it, there are no separate brakes.
taking your finger off the power lever turns the electric motor into an electric generator which slows and stops the scooter very quickly.
I brought a rapide ultra carpet washer today , cleaned half of my front room brilliant then stopped spraying water using the trigger on the handle, as the handle comes off for easy storage I took it off, and what\'s happing is when you pull the trigger to release water a piece of plastic pushes on another piece ov plastic to release water and it was not working only by me pushing my finger on the other piece of plastic in side the handle bit, so mines going back ,
Usually safety foot is not making full contact to trigger mech. First test trigger valve. Remove nails, remove the trigger to expose the trigger firing pin. Connect air and test fire by pushing in the firing pin with your finger (dry fire onto wood or old coiled rubber hose, use very quick pushing action against trigger pin). If the gun works, replace parts and adjust the safety foot so that the lever below the trigger is pushed all the way up and lever depresses the trigger pin all the way in. Good luck
hi first thing to do is to check that your rear brake lights are working properly. that yellow plastic part sounds like the safety system that prevents you from shifting out of park or neutral unless the brakes are pressed. it is an electrical solenoid triggered from the brake light switch, so if this fails, or the fuse blows, you cannot get out of park or reverse
Hi, Take the drill apart using a star driver. When taking the chuck assembly from the yellow section have the drill chuch down to stop bits falling out. Once handle is apart popout the triggger assembly. Remove the two power leads from the assembly. Try a direct connection to the battery (polarity doesn't matter. If the motor goes it means that the trigger is U/S. Put a tester across the terminals (either set). You may have a short (as I had). It appears to me that the trigger is not user servicable. I used one from a DeWalt recip saw with a mod on the reverse lever. Works well.
If it is a variable speed model it could be that crud has built up around the contacts inside the trigger assembly. Get some electrical contact cleaner and spray it as best as you can in and around the trigger....work the trigger a bunch...spray some more. If it's easy to get at you could also take the body apart some for easier access to the trigger.
the guard not releasing could be dirt around the spindle hub or the guard is bent, I would unplug tool and manually pull the guard down to see which one, if it is just sticking you can use a dry lube to cure that, the break could be dirty commutator or worn out brushes, switch. Give me the model number and I will try and find a breakdown for you and go further.
yes, one nice overhaul will fix..(this can be done by you if you are daring...when u open take apart you will find a metal strip like band..I had used a bandaid for brakes the gauze side) you need new brakes (just like a car it is run down) on the reels in order for it slow & stop when it suppose to...or you can search and find a good old fashion repairman..(sorry I dont know of none)...for dragging, before playing all open reels fast fwd to one end then rewind it back to the beginning now hold the blank reel with that little bit catch tape try to tighten full side tape by going slightly going the other way not trying to stretch nor pop the tape.....now press play
the l and r buttons have springs behind them it could be the spring has snapped and the button has fallen onto the switch. the next time it happens hold the ds upside down if it stops its the spring if it doesnt stop then its the micro switch gone faulty and you would have to open up the bottom casing and replace it, its soldered on the motherboard and is smaller than a pea with 5 soldered joints.
