You need to read the information tag from the unit you about to but .It won't said the h.p. of the unit ,it'll said how many b.t.u. (ex.12000 24000, 18000,etc.).It will says what size of circuit breaker you need and the volts the unit works with.

For a/c unit, is there an adapter available or do I need a new plug cord

Actually you should buy and install an AC wall outlet. An AC uses more amperage than most any other appliance due to the fact it has 2 motors the compressor and the blower / fan motor. An AC wall plug has larger terminals so that the plug does not ever heat. Changing the cord to a different and smaller terminal plug is a bad choice due to the danger of overheating the wall outlet terminals. You can buy the AC horizontal terminal outlets at any hardware store. Unless you have a 110V AC unit you will also have to run a 220V #10 Romex (3 wire) with ground to the outlet to be in code.. An AC unit 1 HP (10,000) BTU or larger requires over 15 Amps for start up. Those that are 20,000 BTU or larger obviously require more than 15 amps as a power source.

Fan in our Sharp "Comfort Touch thru-wall a/c stopped

Unless the Unit can be cleaned ( you claim it cools?) but not enough. The age of the Unit is not in you Question, the amount of time you got for 100 bucks is pretty good being you purchased a USED UNIT. With the type of use you claim Running 24/7 and about 5 months of cooling - I'd say you never cleaned the Unit from day one - that might cost you about 100 bucks if the unit can be done in the yard by a serviceman. Chemicals can hurt the Unit if not done properly ( and yourself). It sounds to me like you use it for a Business - if so you can purchase one and write it off .

I have a ge nautilus built in dishwasher and do not know the model number it is 7 years old and came with house. need to replace and am unsure of dimensions for correct sizing on new purchase

You can find them on a label on the tub wall just inside the door. However 99% of all DW are a standard size and the difference is made up by adjustments of the threaded leveling /adjustment legs.

Standard size is 24" x 32-36"...you can take a tape measure and measure from the floor to the bottom of the countertop it is to be installed under...and then measure across the front of the DW. you should find my measurements to be within this range unless it is a custom unit.

Hope this helps. ...good luck and good day...The Fang

Through the wall vs. window installation

I just purchased an alleged "window mount" air conditioner with the closest dimensions to the existing model. Do these mount as through the wall as well? My current opening = 18 x 26" the new purchase is 16 27/32 x 26.

There are 2 different types of window air conditioners – there are the window type of which will fit in a window that opens top to bottom and there is the slide in model of which the actual air conditioner will slide into a metal sleeve which is very common in apartments. In either case you need to measure the inside of the metal sleeve and then give that to the air conditioner dealer and he will know what to do and there is also a POS (point of sale) @ the store of which will also assist you in the measurement of the A/C unit – the window unit you need to measure the opening of the window itself, I hope this was helpful

New Microwave

Well one would presume you could simply measure the bracket and the microwave, and ask a retailer for the dimensions of units with similar dimensions.

They may also have this bracket and be able to compare the sizes before purchasing your new one.

Not knowing the dimensions of either the bracket itself or the microwave, this would be the only solution i can think of.
