Have you tried replacing the rubber "o" ring in the torch's oxy tap? Sometimes, flashback can harden the rubber and make it seal badly.

If your flame goes out check the following:a) check your acetylene and oxygen pressure, for this kind of job acetylene should be at 4 psi and oxygen at 10.b) Check you're using the right type of nozzle for the job and this nozzle is clean.

Torch will only light when oxygen tank is off. Gas is coming out with either valve open. When oxygen tank is on, flame goes out. Thank you for any assistance, knowledge you may provide. Tim O'Brien

Is the flame you are getting a carbonising flame? ie. is there a lot of soot in the flame? It sounds like your oxygen regulator is faulty and not regulating, blowing out your flame as soon as you open the oxygen bottle. The acetylene side seems to be ok but have the oxygen regulator overhauled.

I have a victor model 100 torch. The spring appears to be broken in the oxygen handle. What is the screw in valve called and where can i get one

Check this manual. It's not for your exact torch, but the parts are about the same. You should be able to go to any welding supply hose and buy parts or have your torch repaired.

When to replace oxygen sensor?

Oxygen sensor are run past there normal lives after about 5 years. They can be cleaned but most people do not have a vise and torch to remove the buildup of debris without cooking the unit. Normally at 100 dollars for most replacements its not cost effective to do it anyway.

I just bought a torch. and i was just wondering how to use it. i was just wondering how much oxigen to gas i use

depends of the torch you are using, if you have a single ought or 0 then run the oxygen at about 17 pounds and the gas at 7 pounds, this should give you a good clean cut. Remember to turn on the gas all the way, since gauges run slightly off you may have to increase one or the other, on the handle and barrel assembly you can adjust the gas first light the gas then turn on the oxygen get a good blue flame all even on the tips then turn the oxygen knob all they way on then when cutting be sure to heat the metal forward and move forward at a 17 degree angle, when you hit the cutting lever after the metal turns molten hit the oxygen lever move evenly and slowly if you need help with welding with it let me know and I CAN GIVE YOU SOME TIPS ON GAS WELDING.
