I have tried that. It doesnt help. I have held down start/cancel and the heat dry buttons. I have unplugged the power for three minutes...

I have taken the front covers off, looked through the latch mechanism but found no other issues.

There is a little water left in the basin, so I checked to see if there was a clog, by blowing air into the discharge hose. Air bubbles came up in the machine...

This seems as though there may still be something stuck in the latch area and is preventing the interlock switch for fully engaging to allow the water to get in to the machine. You need to check around the latch area - use a torch to get a good look.

If you are convinced that there is nothing there and everything is OK then check to outlet hose to make sure that it is not blocked or obstructed in any way. Also check that the filters are not blocked. You can check the drain function by adding 2 to 3 litres of water to the machine and then switching to the drain function and seeing if the water drains out. If not then there may be an issue with the water pump.

If it is OK then you are most likely to find a problem with the controller board, a connector may have come loose, or the water inlet valve has become faulty. These latter issues normally produce an error code and beeping so this is unlikely.

If all the above fails then I would call a service engineer.

The control board may be faulty or in error stage. Try to disconnect from power source for several hours, Try pressing power button while unplugged to get rid of any energy that may be left in the system
Then try plugging back in later on, and see if system resets. Otherwise you will need a code to enter the maintenance cycle for the machine

Then either the board is bad, or you will need to get a service manual and enter the diagnostic mode with the code in manual to reset the machine manually. If resetting doesn't work, then you will need a new board.

Why won't the kettle heat up to pop

The heating element needs to be checked to see if it has power and if it has burned out. To do this, you need a meter that checks voltage and resistance. To test it, locate the connections to the heating element and with the machine unplugged test the heating coil with the meter set to measure resistance. It should not be infinite. IF it is then the coil is burned out.

Drum turns and turns. only burns the kernals doesn't pop them

If the drum is turning, then it should work. Are you putting enough oil in the pot? Make sure you let it heat the oil for a little bit before adding the popcorn. If you dont have enough oil or heat it will not heat the kernals properly and burn them. You just need enough to cover the bottom of the pot an 1/8 inch so.

Kernels jump up and out of maker while maker is working. At least 50% of kernels are wasted. Thanks for your help.

This won't totally solve the problem, but do the following:
  1. turn on the machine and allow to run for about a minute to allow the machine to get hot.
  2. add 1/2 again as much kernals to the popper
  3. tilt the machine back slightly while popping begins
this should reduce your wasted kernals!

I don't have a mechanical/electrical or other problem all I am trying to accomplish is finding a drawer that was accidently thrown out when some people assisting in cleaning up a school's fall festival dumped the left over popcorn into the trash bag and was not aware that the small drawer that catches left over unpopped kernals fell into the trash bag. The trash was picked up and now I am out a drawer that is needed to operate this machine in thecorrect manner. I just needed to know if you knew where I could find such a part. Thanks you

Cuisinart popcorn popper directions

If you are using the Cuisinart pop corn poppper, don't use olive oil. Use vegetable oil. Two teaspoons is enough with 1/3 cup of premium kernels. That is it. Turn on the machine and wait til it stops popping. I LOVE my new pop corn popper. I will not do the hot air one again. I always had kernels flying all over my kitchen and popped popcorn everywhere, The Cuisinart popper is the best....

Ccp-510 popcorn popper pops only small amount and quits

I had the same problem when I firs bought mine. I followed the instructions as to the proportion of corn to oil. Forget the book! I found that with this machine I had to use three times the oil that was caled for in the instructions to get all of the corn to pop. Better yet, we started purchasing the premade kits with the oil, popcorn and salt. Since changing to both of these systems we have enjoyed GREAT ppcorn!
