I just installed the firmware update for the strada and I have the ipod video cable hooked up, but now I can only hear the videos, but they are not showing up on the screen. I can see them fine on the IPOD, any ideas? Was the video input cable installed in the wrong place maybe???

make sure that you have updated the kenwood to the latest software for the ipod--at kenwoods site--What cable are you using to hook up to the kenwood, hope you are not using the usb cable cause that won't work , you have to have a KCA-Ip301V ipod video cable. Here is the firmware link you need-- http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/mm/firmware/2010/2010c/eng.html
JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This
optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following
iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini
(1st/2nd gen), iPod nano
(1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic
(80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd
gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge
the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change
This is a faily simple fix. First of all, this USB will not be able to playback audio from an iPod or iPhone without using the correct cable. The cable needed has both USB and an audio plug on it. Here is a link to the Kenwood cable you will need:
This unit does not have iPod video capabilities only audio, If you want to view video from your iPod you can get a universal cable that would charge it and also give you a audio and video output, this cable needs to be powered and grounded and hooked up to one of the radio audio video inputs. This link will take you to it.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates. Delete the firmware you don't want, in your case it'll be "iPod_184.108.40.206". Turn off the internet (turn off the router/whatever). Connect the iPod, then click Restore. As iTunes cannot connect to the internet and get the newest firmware (1.1.1), it will use the latest firmware in that folder, rolling you back to 1.0.2.
To see video output on your televison, you need one of hte following versions of the Ipod:
iPhone (software version 1.1.1 or later required)
iPod nano (3rd generation)
iPod (5th generation)
iPod with color display (iPod photo)
When you plug the cord into your Audio receiver, the Ipod is only sending audio to the receiver. For your iPod to send video output to your television, you will need to buy an AV cable for your tv. Here is the link to Apple's website where you can view the A/V cables that will allow you to watch video on your television. Here it is
Look on the Panasonic website and follow the links for the Strada. It's not real clear but you will find it if you look long enough. Has HTML directions too. Adds Ipod video button and 3D map view. (I think a few more things too.)
