How do I get my canon ip6000 printer to recognize my Mac computer

You need to go on your mac and download the driver and install it on your mac.
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/ip-series/pixma-ip6000d
Assuming printer only has UBS interface Mac should recognise the printer is connected to it once you install the driver .
If it has an internet protocol ip address tcp/IP then give printer an ip address in the range of the MAC and it will be detected by the mac.

HOW TO CONNECT PRINTER TO MAC

<br />Acquire the Mac printer driver either by downloading it or getting it on CD. Most printers come with the drivers needed to run the printer. You can also check the printer manufacturer's website to get the correct drivers.<br /><br /><br />Be sure that your printer is connected to your Mac and turned on. Reboot your computer if you connected the printer after your last reboot.<br /><br />Double click on the .dmg or installer file for the driver. If you got the software on CD instead of downloading it, load the CD into your Mac and then double click on the .dmg file. This is called "unpacking" the software.<br /><br /><br />"Mount" the printer driver by copying the files to your hard drive. To do this, just drag and drop the files into the folder where you want to save your software. The Mac will then copy the files to the location you specified.<br /><br /><br />Follow any further instructions the installation software gives you to complete the installation process.<br /><br /><br />"Eject" the .dmg or installer file. To do this, drag the file from your desktop into the trash can.<br /><br /><br />Open the Print Center on your Mac and then click the "ALT" key and "Add" at the same time. You should see a list of printers that includes the one you are installing. Choose this printer and click the "Add" button in the dialog box.<br /><br /><br />Reboot your computer if you do not see the printer on the list. Be sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac first.<br /><br /><br />Your printer might already be on the printer list before you install the manufacturer software. Emulator driver mac 10.6 +

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X2350 Printer Driver on your Mac system. The driver says it's for Mac 10.7, however, it also works on 10.6. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One printer, Scanner, Copier will not scan with Mac OS 10.4. The button flashes for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. No image appears on my computer screen.

All lot of those printers came with two separate driver's disc. Make sure that you are installing the correct for the mac and not windows. If you are you can go to the hp website and do a search on there website for the driver for mac operating system.

I have been given a lexmark x75, with no instructions how do i install this

It would be better if you install the software/driver first in your computer. The software also shows you the instructions on how to setup the printer itself. Here are the drivers available for download in the Lexmark website. Just click on the driver compatible with your computer's operating system.
- Lexmark X75 AIO Printer driver for Mac OS X, Mac OS X 10.1, Mac OS X 10.1.5, Mac OS X 10.2, Mac OS X 10.2.1, Mac OS X 10.2.8, Mac OS X 10.3.x, and Mac OS X 10.4.x.
- Custom Driver for Microsoft Windows 2000
- Driver for Microsoft Windows XP
These are the only available drivers. That means the printer is not compatible with Mac 10.5, Mac 10.6, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
For additional information, here's the Setup Sheet (Lexmark X74, X75) and the User's Guide (Lexmark X74, X75) . Hope this helps.

Need to install Lexmark X4550 but only have MAC disc am on vista

Are you trying to install the Lexmark X4550 to your Mac computer? What is the exact OS of your Mac (i.e 10.3.x; 10.4.x or 10.5.x)?

You have to make sure that the pinter is compatible with the OS that you have.

I don't have a doubt with the printer since you mentioned that it worked with XP. To install the printer to your Mac, please follow the steps below:

If your printer does not appear in the Printer pop-up menu, find and install the appropriate driver. Check any CD-ROM discs included with the printer, or the website of your printer's manufacturer. Only users with an administrator account can install software.

Tip: You can also open the Printer List window from Printer Center (Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier) or the Printer Setup Utility (Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, or later).

Check the Printer menu again after installing the software. If the printer does not appear, you may need to do this:
  1. Make sure the printer is connected to your computer, plugged in, and turned on.
  2. For Mac OS X 10.2.8 or earlier, from the Printer menu in the print dialog choose Edit Printer List. The Printer List window appears.
  3. For Mac OS X 10.3 or later, choose Show Printer List from the View menu. The Printer List window appears.
  4. Click the Add Printer button.
  5. Choose USB from the first pop-up menu.
  6. Select your printer from the list.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Close the Printer List window.
If the printer will not work, you may download the driver from the Web and install it. Here, I have provided you the link where you can download the printer driver:

http://www.findmysoft.com/drivers/Lexmark-X4550-1-0-11-1-printer-driver.html

Just click the download button and install it.

Have a great day!

you need to use generic driver for MAC... What kind of MAC OS are you using? MAC 10 have the drivers installed on the computer and you don't need to install the software.
