Question about Panasonic PT-61LCX65 61" Rear Projection HDTV
My tv has developed two red spots on the screen. They tend to be noticable on dark backgrounds. I am able to operate the tv for any application needed but would like to get the red dots off my screen. Any ideas??
Check with Panasonic. I have the same issue and was originally told that the optic board needed to be replaced ($1700). I waivered on getting it fixed and spending more than the tv is worth. So I now learned that there is a new fix for the bad optic board and Panasonic is repairing it free of charge. Repair is schedueled for next Friday (Feb 1, 08). I'll report back if it was successful. This repair involes an eprom on the optic board. Hope the sheds new light........

I had the same problem red blotch or circle on right side of picture.
It was corrected by an eprom upgrade done 5/5/08 for me free of charge under warranty. This tool should be available to do yourself but I do not think it to be the case.

You have a defective optics block assembly.
