- This is the SECOND time I have typed this. It disappeared the first time.When I put my camera in the charger nothing happens and the camera won't turn on or work. I don't know whether to replace the charger or the battery. How do I find out?

- I may have tested my camera maybe once from I received it. The battery was reading low and kept cutting off once I tried turning it on, however the battery is not charging once placed on the cradle. - djdeveaux6Feb 19, 2008
- My new Vivitar Viicam 5340 has been charged all night and all day. It turns on when on the docking station but goes off as soon as I lift it off. Make sure that the battery is propperly inserted. The battery port isnt keyed to only accept the battery the right way around so its easy to inadvertently insert the battery so that there is no terminal contact. The result would be what you decribe. Simply turn the battery over and insert as indicated by the picture inside the port.
