Power On Problem PA 458 Proview Monitor

Hello...

I have a proview monitor i guess the model is something like PA 458.
I needed to clean the monitor from inside because of lots of dust in it. I cleaned with the help of a soft cloth. After i cleaned and fixed back i am not able to switch on the monitor. It makes some sound behind the picture tube (Tick Tick sound). Power button seems to be working fine but it never displays anything.

Can anybody help me about that?

Thanks and Regards
Vikram

Any high switching power supply of the same voltage and amperage rating will work for you. You may have to cut the end off of your old one and wire it to the new one to make it work but don't waste your money buying a specific power supply.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: no power when first plugged in the power light blinks

ok I have posted a fix for this but I will do it again it will require some soldering technique unplug the unit from the wall and the computer and set it down on its face(lcd side down) open the back of the unit and disconnect the lcd unit and the backlight power leads. remove the screws from the power unit cover. remove the screws from the vga board then gently pull up the board turn it over and you will see a grouping of 6 capacitors that are blown you may also see another single 120 mfd at 25 volts blown the capacitors are rated 470 mfd at 25 volts but look at the side of one when you have unsoldered it to make sure you get the proper capacitance . make sure you solder in the capacitor the correct way there is a neg and pos side to them and they switch sides halfway through the reworking. reassemble the unit and plug in the back light power leads and then plug in the lcd unit to the vga lead make sure its securely pushed onto the connector re screw the ten screws and then reattach to the computer and plug in the wall and the lcd should come back to life. be very careful doing this kid of work

SOURCE: Need help: ProView 700P Silver LCD Monitor

You do NOT need a driver. Your monitor is broken. The high voltage power supply that provides power to light the CCFL cold cathode fluorescent lights is broken. The most common problem is that the 470uF 25V capacitors on the power supply circuit board are bad. Bad Caps have a swollen and sometimes leaky top. There are 6 capacitors that cost about 50 cents apiece from www.partsexpress.com . Buy high temperature replacement capacitors rated at 105C. If you can't de-solder and resolder have some 14 year old kid do it for you.

ProView 19" Flat Screen Monitor comes on with

Hello,

The dark or black picture is caused by a failure in the back light power supply. The problem can be corrected by replacing a few parts called capacitors on the board. Replacing them will require a little soldering but anyone can do it. Here is a link to a page that shows what needs to be replaced.

All you need to do is plug in the video cable into the back of your computer (VGA port) and plug the monitor into the wall. If the monitor doesn't turn on when plugged in, then the monitor is bad.
