Art Tube MP Project Series preamp how to set up comp to record

Question Hey fixya proaudio, I'm very far from being tech savy but I really want to start recording my music. I bought a Art Tube MP Project Series preamp with USB connection. I also have a audiotechnica Condenser mic. I'm trying to record the vocals and my acoustic electric (on my computer (XP win _) using cakewalk and cubase A 4.0. When I connect everything I can see that something does not work no record signal so, I can't record it in real time nor will it play back after recording is finished. Please, advise step by step for “ us dummies” how to set up Art Tube MP Project Series and where to start. If you need more info let me know. Thanks for reading this. - V.

Hi there,
USB option does not work at all q as they said....Their use manual only makes marketing...It is not nice.

I fed up to use USB option ( no rec signal ) on this unit cause I have been told, better to use Yamaha mix device....

What happens if I plug a 110v device into 220v outlet WITH adaptor

Is the adapter simply a plug adapter or does it step down the voltage? If it steps down the 22ovac to 110vac then the device should work fine. If it simply changes the plug to fit then you will fry the amp. What is the brand and model number of the adapter?

Singer 438 timing

Ah... I have one of those as far as I am conscerned it's lawn art. There is a pin that runs the zig zag that over time wears out the pin hole. Not to mention that top gear that strips out. They aren't worth putting too much effort into getting them repaired.

I will say that zig zag timing is far more complicated than a regular straight stitch only machine. You might find it easier to get help from a sewing machine tech.

I want to use my rode NT1-A on my laptop. how do i do so?

you need a recording interface (with phantom power if the mic requires that - most condensor mics need phantom power) to go from the mic to the interface, then to the computer. There are many USB recording interfaces - some easy plug and play interfaces include:

Then on your computer you need an application such as audacity (if windows), cubase, sonar, logic, pro tools, or any other audio recording app that will allow you to record and edit tracks. From there, you can install many different plugins or apps that can process the audio and add effects to the tracks like reverb, delay, distortion, etc.

I got a rode classic II with avalon m5 mic pre. So when i crank up my mic pre to 60 n i can start listening some hissing from my monitor...or is it normal for a valve mic coz when after recorded with this...

The hiss is caused by your monitor system level and your preamp gain being so high. At high gain settings, a preamp is going to get noisy, and tube mics have a higher noise level to begin with.

If you can't hear it on your recordings, then it's not a problem.

V/u meter not operating. no tube light?

If the tube is not lit, then it may have a broken heater... replace the tube... OR the power supply may have a problem.
