Indesit D63 - blocked with fat.

My Indesit D63 won't start running. The power light comes on but then nothing. I've read other solutions about how it's usually water draining in to the bottom of the dishwasher, but I've checked that. What I do have is where the salt goes in, there's another plastic section joined on to the salt container, but separated. This appears to be full of fat! I can't see how to open up the plastic container to remove this.
