Question about Computers & Internet
Its not new if it has a startup password. If you didn;t buy it from a store you can't be certain its new. Did you inspect it before buying? If not you have 2 options if its used and if its new take it back to the store. Contact the previous owner and ask what the start up/log on password is then once you get in you can turn it off or change to something you know. 2 if they don't have it some computer stores will be able to get in the PC (thorugh the back end and can disable it) it will probably cost 1hr labor depending on who you go to (tell them you forgot it).3 they may need to reformat the whole PC (reload everything from scratch) and that takes about 2-4hrs with most of them charging $70-$90 per hour. Try calling the previous owner first nd if its new take it back where you bought it for an exchange.. good luck

Since it sounds as if you have never been able to get into the laptop heres what you can do. Shut down the computer, restart and as soon as you see the computers logo start pressing F1 repeatedly until the screen ask you what you want to do. When you get to this point you want to reset to factory specs. Then follow prompts as they come up. Now this will erase never to be retrieved again everything in the computer files, music etc. The system will go back to as if never used. This should take a couple of hours to do at most and once started you can't stop.
