The device may be enabled but is the radio switch in the "on" position. These are different. There is either a switch or keyboard combination that turns on the wireless radio. If everything is "on" then try this.

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Cant connect to wirless network

if you can connect to your wirless AP from other devices such as mobile or other laptop this means that you have to check the following:
1- delete then re-create your wireless profile .
2- make sure that your wireless adapter is cofigured to obtain automatic ip address not static.
but if you are not able to connect with other devices , then make sure that you have the correct security password (if any) or check the configuration of your Access Point.

I cant get my laptop conected to the internet, does it have wireless?

Yes it does have wirless. If you wireless isn't appearing in the main window screen via the taskbar, then you either have your wirleess card disabled. You can enabled this in the control panel in your network device managment and if you see the wireless card, see if it is enable, if it is disabled, right click and click enable. If you don't see one, then your wireless card is damaged, and will need to be replaced.

first try resetting your router.. unplug it for 5 minutes to "power down"... restart it and reboot the laptop... if this don't help.. Uninstall your network card from the device manager.. then reboot and reinstall network driver... if this still does not help.. open your Command prompt (from your Run Menu).. type : ipconfig / release then type ipconfig /renew. this will reset your DHCP server address .. Hope this helps

Wireless problem

Not all wireless networks can be "seen'. This is because they are not broadcasting the SSID. This is done for security reasons. In order to connect to a wireless network, there are three things that one typically needs: 1) SSID. This is a name for the wireless network. You may not always be able to see this, as it is a common security practice to not broadcast this out. Even if it is not broadcast, you will still be able to connect to it. 2) Encryption type. There are several flavors out there, including the option of none at all. The key here is that this setting must be EXACLTLY the same on both the laptop and accesspoint for proper communications. 3) Encryption key. Again, this must be EXACTLY the same on both ends. Finally, make sure you are in range. Depending on the wireless technology in use, the effective range may not be more than a 100 feet. While initially configuring wireless, it is best to be as close as possible to the access point, and then slowly move away to find the outward bounds of the access point's communication range.
