Re: door will not unlock
If the water has not completely emptied, this won't allow the door to open. Check by lowering the outlet hose into a bowl. If a fair amount of water comes the problem is likely to be a pump or filter blockage

Wait at least three minutes
after the end of the cycle before attempting to unlock your Whirlpool
washer. The door will not unlock until the motor speed equals 0 and 180
seconds have elapsed since the motor control unit received the "Stop"
command. If the water in the washer is warmer than 122 degrees

Hi, I'm not sure why your door won't unlock but you can manually unlock it by removing the front panel under the door (3 screws at bottom of machine) with the panel off reach up just under the lock mechanisim and there should be a plastic tab hanging down, that is the manual release. Pull it down and your door should open. Remember, power off first! Good luck.
