Mic hookup Have a Targa 15.3 lapptop with vista. After installing a studio program i have failed to activate(install) a microphone. To make sure that software is not the problem I have attempted windows own simple recorder program but fail to record any sound there. The front plugs on the pc are pink, blue, green. And the studio program has multiple settings for mic, line in and multiple of each... not sure if that is enough to go on. But I am fairly certain my problem is simple and I am just overlooking something... can you help. thank you, merrymerry and hapyhappy marc

Acer aspire 5920 running vista has built in mic not working

Hey,

It is all because the Microphone is not set as a default device to start recording.

Its like your computer has no device for recording even if the computer has connected with Mic.

Just change the settings and enjoy..!!!

Check the below link:

My mic is not working in vista. I tried to install the software for it but it states that is not compatible with vista

this is the dilemma of Vista. some hardwares and softwares are not comptible with it. so be sure that the hardware you're going to connect to your pc is vista certified otherwise dont install it. try to go to sound property and be sure that the microphone is enable and not muted...goodluck!

QuickCam mic doesn't work

I read another post that said to go to Logitech itself for up-dates. This I did......downloaded all new drivers, etc. (the disc that comes with the cam must be out of date !). Then when that was done, I went back on Skype and where you do a 'voice test' I was able to this time around to "choose" my webcam - this was not coming up before at all. So in doing that it activated the mic on the webcam and all was OK. We seniors are supposed to be savvy with the forever changing world of electronic devices today! (LOL)

Sound quality not good at all

open up the sound icon on control panel...select recording......select samson mic....make sure set to default.....go into properties ...and boost main volume slider....most mics after install are set quite low and you have to go in and adjust the vol input level

Camera works but microphone doesn't My wife has a QuickCam Pro 9000 Web Cam - Camera works - The speakers are in the screan and are realtek the computer seems also to be looking for realtek microphone and...

That KachiWachi guy is a **** indeed...
My fix for Vista 64 bit, yellow exclamation mark at Logitech Mic (Pro 9000) in Device Manager:

Right click Logitech Mic (Pro 9000), properties, driver, update driver

Browse my computer for driver software, location should be C:\Windows\System32\drivers, also make sure the Include subfolders box is checked

Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
Make sure there is a checkmark at Show compatible hardware

Select the USB Audio Device instead of the Logitech Mic (Pro 9000) and click next

Now your microphone works by using the generic Windows driver instead of the Logitech ****!
