Hi

Look at the bottom of the mouse - there is a tiny little button that has an image of a battery (it is very small).

Push that, and the covering that houses the batteries will pop up. You can then remove the covering easily to change the batteries.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: My logitech lx8 wireless mouse stoped working.

Maybe some internal component is broken. try to connect the mouse to another computer and see if it works. If not, you should replace it.

SOURCE: does the wireless mouse receiver has battery?

Yes please you have to as five years is a very long time for any battery to survive. Also I am sure you have its CD that came with it so that you can load its drivers. So, Install the drivers first. Then connect it to the PC after a reboot. Allow Windows to detect it and load its drivers and then start using it.

Update and install the newest hardware drivers from the Microsoft site. This should correct your problem. Yes, I know it will work Plug & Play, it just doesn't work properly. The other issue is batteries... use the most expensive batteries you can afford and never rechargeables as the voltage is less 1.25 V vs. 1.5 V.

My wireless mouse has quit working. I'm guessing I need a new battery. However, I can't figure out how to even find the battery, let alone change it! How do I do that????

Cutting down on the number of wires that must be tolerated in a work station adds to maneuverability and ease of location. For all their convenience, though, wireless accessories bring with them a number of issues not present in their wired counterparts, most significantly battery change.
Instructions

    • 1 Turn off the mouse.
    • 2 Remove the top of the top of the battery compartment. The button that releases it is located toward the rear of the mouse.
    • 3 Remove the old battery and place the new one in its place. Replace the cover and turn the mouse back on.

Wireless mouse will not work with battery

Check the battery connections to make sure they are making contact and not corroded. Make sure you hit the reset button which is on the bottom of the mouse so it can reestablish contact with the USB stick.

Targus mouse remote

If the Red Light is on the batteries should be good enough to function. Try
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
