If your talking about enclosed fireplace with the glass front and the vents from it are facing down. Then yes you can use your judgment though. Just make sure their is enough space between the tv, and the fireplace so their isn't direct heat blowing on the tv. A good 4-5 feet above the fire place or more would be fine.

SOURCE: wall mount for 52in tv ?

Here is a mount rated for your size TV http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/518312-REG/Bentley_PLAW_6000FB_PLAW_6000FB_32_60_Flat_Panel.html

Also, be VERY careful mounting ANY plasma above a fireplace. Plasma sets are typically convection cooled to avoid the noise of fans. The heat from a fireplace will GREATLY reduce the life of the set. When people I know insist on putting a set above a fireplace I usually insist they install a cooling fan with ducting that will vent fresh air to the set. If you are concerned about the temp of your set simply consult the owners manual for operating temperature and measure the air above the fireplace yourself. BHphotovideo.com typically has good prices on mounts along with amazon. most other places like bestbuy or circuitcity will stick you on the price of the mount because they make their money from accessories. Also, why did your last set die? plasmas are typically rateed for 10+ years, did yours over heat and start to change colors?

SOURCE: I just bought a 46 inch SAMSUNG LED HD TV from

Hello,

it is not safe to mount the TV 8 inches above the mantle.

Secondly, the heat will certainly be a danger if the TV is mounted above the mantle.

I would advice you look for another position to mount the TV.

I hope the above is clear.

Regards.

Can you give me some advice on, how to mount a 46in tv above my non working fireplace mantle?

You would have to use a mounting bracket specifically designed for the type of installation you describe and it certainly would have to be fastened into the studs behind the sheetrock. A TV of that size will be heavy to lift and install in the bracket

Just purchase a mount for 42" and above They come in different styles for your likening and make sure the wall bracket gets mounted into the wall studs and your all set. No major job. I get $150 all day long for those installs.

Where is the fuel pump and fuel filter located on 22RE motor???

Fuel pump is inside the gas tank. Fuel filter is right next to the oil filter, a little above and towards the fire wall. It is mounted with 3 bolts.
WHAT's wrong with the truck? Is it just for maintenance.

WILL BE BUYING LCD TV IN NEAR FUTURE, BUT NEED TO MOUNT IN ON WALL WITH FIREPLACE, SEVERAL FEET ABOVE EYE LEVEL. CAN DO?

Absolutly, I have wall mounted a few dozen above fireplaces in the past 5 years; I can even send you over some pictures and suggestions come time for the install.

What is the wall material? Brick mantel or drywall with wood studs?

Although a TV looks attractive about a fireplace you have to consider that it is fatiguing to watch from such a high height. The optimal average height for a TV is 45" to centre (depending on furniture). If you exceed that by a few feet watching a lot of TV is awkward.

The advantage is it combines the focal point of the room, and instead of having a picture about a fire place, your TV becomes the work of art and can be used as a digital picture frame.

It is strongly suggested to NOT mount any Plasma or LCD TV above or near to a fire place!!! These are very sensitive to heat when it comes to their lifespan.

Distance over gas fireplace

Both LCD TVs and plasma TVs get hot, though plasma TVs tend to be a bit hotter in my experience. Also, plasma TVs are going out of fashion.

A lot will depend on the construction of your fireplace. If it's brick it should insulate fairly well.

Either way, I would recommend a mounting solution that does not put the back of the TV flush with the wall. Get one that tilts. I would avoid the "arm" style ones as that will put additional strain on the mounting.

Remember to think about how you want to run your power and video cabling as well!

You have probably posted to the wrong section so you may want to post to another but (and I am not an expert nor do I know what plasma fire is) as long as you are not subjecting the TV to excessive heat (presumed since you watch it) you should be okay.

Most consumer devices are rated to operate at 0-70 degrees Centigrade (not Fahrenheit). That means the components will operate within that ambient range without malfunctioning. Heat and plastic are a different subject.....there one would use common sense. Plasma fire....hmmm...scientifically you have a rather unique fire so I will assume its the name of some sort of product (or I am not up to date on the latest fireplace fad). FYI...a real plasma fire would melt brick.

Hope this helps....if not suggest you post to a different section. Tango.
