Has their been a delay wash button pressed? If not unplug it for 5 minutes to reset back to factory settings. Normally letting it run (after the delay) it would start and fininsh the cycle but incase of an error the unplug should reset and put it back to where it should be. If resetting doesn't help you more then likely have a bad board/control panel and will need service..

Did it work? Usually when you decline a suggestion you would post more info so the next person reviewing can see where my soluition put you/us. If my solution worked and you never tried it then different solutions would get posted and the real problem never gets solved. At the point were chasing out tails. If you could leave some sort of comment regarding my answer, it helps us help you/others in the future..

Hi,
I can tell you ither the solonoid valve is busted and causing it to fill up to much. Or its this, not enough water and to much soap. What you can do is turn the knob all the way back to the cycle you left it on and see what happens from there. If nothing seems to work, then call a repairman. It just might be the motor controler frying itself.

Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

WHy does my dishwasher not go beyond the wash cycle?

Sounds like a bad control board. Try turning the breaker off for a few minutes and try again. If that does not fix it you need to change the control board.

Kenmore elite dishwasher model 630 Smart Wash light is flashing

You may want to try:
Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test.
Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.
Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel.
Check to make sure that there's no standing water in the bottom of your dishwasher. Standing water in your dishwasher may indicate that your dishwasher has stopped mid-cycle. You will need to press the "Cancel/Drain" button before you can reset your dishwasher control panel.

Got a used kenmore elite and I am looking for an instruction manual. I need more info on the washing cycles. Does it normally take 1 1/2 hrs to wash on the quick cycle mode? Model # 665.17483300 Type...

Here's a link to your model, showing exploded diagrams and parts lists, for future reference.

And your manual.

I found similar Kenmore dishwashers on Consumer Reports with around 135 to 145 minutes for a normal wash cycle and around 5 to 6 gallons per wash. A quick wash would take somewhat less, depending on the model. But not much less. I think you are OK. Because dishwashers are using less water these days, they count on longer wash times to produce the same effect.

We just installed a new kenmore dishwasher yesterday. Model 13242 It has been running for almost2 hours and is still on the washing cycle--no water in it however--is this normal? I'm in a bit of a panic as...

THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!!!!! A normal wash and dry cycle will take approx. 2 hours in length including drying cycle.
You should see that water has been present in the machine within the first 2 minutes of the start of the wash cycle, you should also be able to hear the water entering the wash tub.
The fill valve or water supply seems to be the issue, if the water doesn't enter the tub then the controller won't proceed witht the wash cycle. Double check your water supply tube / hose to make sure there is water present at the connection to the dishwasher.
GOOD LUCK !

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher clean light ind flashing and won't start

You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

press (high temp-wash) button and then ( heated dry)
do that 3 times in that order within 5 seconds. So it looks like this:

(high temp-wash) ( heated dry) (high temp-wash) ( heated dry) (high temp-wash) ( heated dry)

That will start a short diagnostic cycle (last about 2 minutes) that will clear the blinking light and allow you to use the dishwasher. If the light comes back, your drying cycle has failed and you will need service.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

Wash cycle

momrules, it could vary depending on the water entering the dishwasher. On a heavy cycle normal time is about 85 minutes not including thermal holds ( pauses that heat the water). On a normal wash, 68 to 75 minutes not including thermal holds. If the water entering the dishwasher is not at least 120 to 140 degrees the dishwasher will pause in cycles to heat the water before advancing. So 120 minutes is not unrealistic. The heaters in the dishwasher are low wattage and will only heat the water approx. 2 degrees every 5 minutes. Catriver.
