Question about Mitsubishi LT-46246 46 in. HDTV LCD TV

Open Question

Cable card won't initialize. was working fine...then it appears that whatever reads the cable card inside the tv went out. had cable co. bring out a new cable card...problem repeated itself. menu states "please wait while cable card initializes" this process usually takes only 20-30 seconds followed by the message "cable card is initialized" now, the "please wait" message stays on the screen for 1-2 minutes followed by that menu disappearing and the cable card still not initializing. additionally, the tv will not accept channel changes using the remote. for example, entered channel 67 followed by the enter command...nothing...tv reverts to the channel that was selected prior to the channel change attempt. when cable card is removed channel selection works again. My ?...what part is more than likely out in my tv Mitsubishi 46246 FYI, tv works fine w/a cable box

Lost BBC channels on my SAGEM PVR6200T during a retune

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

For troubleshooting the retune procedure visit http://tvretune.co.uk/troubleshooting/

Can't recieve any stations

The remote would need to reprogrammed for the other devices. It loses its programming when the batteries are replaced. There may be a model number on the back of the remote or under the battery cover. With that information you can probably find the instructions on the manufacturer's website. Or you can purchase another remote if all else fails. They're pretty inexpensive.

There's nothing the remote can do that would affect your TV unless you hit one of the buttons, possibly switching to another input. Unplug the set and let it sit a few minutes. Plug it back in and go through the initial setup again. This should bring everything back to normal for you.

If you're still having problems, please post a followup comment and I'll try to help more.

Intermittent low hum in TV/cbl mode works fine in tunner DVD mod

I switched out of the audio-out cables from the cable box to the audio in at the Denon receiver and went with a coaxial cable connection. That switch got rid of the hum. I don't understand why the initial connection produced the hum, but the unit is working fine now.

Reading rca cables

Hi!

There is obviously a lot of background that is missing form your question, most specifically the kinds of equipment that you are using and the exact way that you have wired the components. However, I can tell you that a common problem when changing the "source" for DVD/VCR units is to also change the source settings inside the unit, which are usually accessed through the setup utility, which is usually in the menu of the DVD/VCR. To access the menu, you may have to have the coax cables hooked up, just until you change the settings to the RCA (component) cables.

Good luck, and let me know if this helps!

Suddenly no sound & no picture overnight: is my TV dead?

If you have static siugnal, sure TV is not dead.

Check the aerial cable, ensure it is well plugged in and getting signal.

If you are using a receiver box, check cables to TV and receiver (freeview, sat, cable etc.), try setting channels on receiver again, if it does not work but you get static, then either the cables or receiver are defective.

Test the TV on standalone , connecting it to an external antenna.
Tune again the channels, and save the preset.
If still no signal then the antenna socket on the TV may be defective.

Try using the TV with a DVD.

If you can watch DVDs, and TV is not keeping channels preset, and you tried all the above, at this point htere may be a fault in the tuner card inside tv.

Call the phone number listed on tv user manual to get support, and eventually repair it.

Female coax connector in tv bad?

Did the cable person take a reading on the signal level at the cable outlet on the wall and did the cable person check the TV setting to make sure they are correct. TV could be set on the wrong channel also.
