Question about Hydrofarm Hydrorfarm Flco200d Fluorescent Grow Light System 200w Daylight

1 Answer

How can I wire fluorescent tube light.There's 2 cables incoming through the wall.One has red,black and green/yellow.Other has red and black only.I've tried connecting both reds from the incoming cables to ''L'',both blacks to ''N'' and single incoming yellow/green to ''E''. When power is switched on a ''pop'' is heard and power goes off again! When single red is connected to ''L'',power is switched on the light remains illuminated even when switch is off! Please advise what I'm doing wrong. Thanks. PS Sorry I cant find or enter a valid product.

    Hello Stevo89,

    Thank you for your reply much appreciated. To clarify/confirm.both reds (live) AND one black (from cable with red and black only) go to L(ive) terminal yellow/green E(earth) will be E terminal and remaining black to N (neutral) terminal. Is this correct?

    Thank you for your kind help.

    Sam.

    Hello Stevo89,

    I apologise. Previously I gave slightly incorrect info re fluorescent tube light fitting. There are 2 grey cables as previously mentioned,but BOTH have live (red),Earth (yellow/green) and Neutral (black).Previusly I mistakenly said one grey cable had only red and black.I connected both live (reds) and one thicker (less flexible) black wire into live terminal.Connected both earths to E and remaining thin (more flexible) black to N.When power switched on the light remains ON even when switched off! I've swapped the black wires (thin to live thick to N) but when switched on a "pop" is heard and power switches off!

    Please advise.

    Thank you kindly.

I'm an electrician and will be happy to help you out. I need a little more information to answer accurately first. 1) What is the brand and model number of the "ceiling fan with remote". 2) If replacing / adding switches, how many locations will control the fan / light fixture? Please provide this info and I'm sure we can get this working very quickly.

How do i connect a ballast

Hello. Not sure what ballast you are looking for but I am guessing a Fluorescent light replacement ballast. Normally in a 2 tune balleast there are a BLACK and WHITE, These are Hot and Common. 2 Yellows go to the one end of the tubes. The 2 Blue wires go to the end of one of the tubes and the 2 red wires go the end of the other tube
Black to Black, White to White. 2 yellow to Tube 1 and 2 yellow to Tube 2. 2 Blue to Tube 1 and 2 Red to Tube 2.
Hope this helps..

I'm trying to replace a switch outlet combo with a leviton pr180 with occupancy sensor...it has black, red, green, and yellow red wires. The wiring in the wall is one black and white and ground for the...

In addition to the black, red, green, and yellow/red wires on the switch, there should also be a white wire or terminal marked WH. The black wire on the switch connects to the incoming black wire (line in or hot) inside the switch box. The red wire on the switch connects to the outgoing black wire (to the load) inside the switch box. The green connects to the bare wires inside the switch box. The yellow/red is not used in a single pole application such as yours. The two white wires inside the switch box are twisted together and _also_ connected to the WH terminal (or white wire) on the switch.

I have a black red yellow and green wire on a combination fan controller and light dimmer,which wires do i hook up to my switch line and feed line in my wall box....thks in advance

You have new wiring device.
Device controls fan and light.

To control fan and light separately from wall box, requires a separate wire to each Load.
So box requires one wire going to fan, and a separate wire going to light.
If previous switch has just two wires that controlled both fan and light, and then fan is controlled with pull-chain, it sounds like new device requires another wire be added to circuit.
Add a comment and say how many cables enter wall box, and say color of each wire in each cable.

Without knowing exact wires in your box, or exact device ... I can suggest answer based on typical wiring.
Compare this answer with instructions that came with device.

How to wire fan-light device:
-Device-green wire always connects to bare copper wire
-Device-black always connects to black Hot wire from breaker
-Device-red usually connects to wire going to light
-Device-yellow usually connects to wire going to fan

Hello, I have 2 black wires coming from the junction box, and a copper ground wire. I connected the green wire to the ground. Where do I connect the red, white, and black wires?

The timer should have red, black,blue and green wires. (no white?) If you have only the two black wires coming from junction box, then connect green to ground like you did. Connect the incoming black (HOT) to the black wire on the timer.connect the outgoing (to the light) to the blue wire on the timer. Cap of with wire nut the red wire. This is for a single pole switch installation (Only switch for the light) If this is for a 3-way control (where you have 2 or more switches) then you use the red.

The 3-way dimmer switch has 4 wires; 1-red, 1-yellow, 1 green and 1 black. Hot wire coming in is black, ground is bare and neutral is white. Wires going out are red,black,bare and white. What does each of...

Incoming white - outgoing white This is the neutral, which just passes through without connecting to the switch
incoming black - switch black the hot wire provides power to the switch
switch red - outgoing red a traveler, will have power when toggle is one position
switch yellow - outgoing black
the other traveler, will have power when toggle is in the other position
incoming bare - switch green - outgoing bare the switch is grounded and it passes through

Heath-zenith sl-6107 wiring diagram

hi there the wirings colour codes for nz are as follows

OLD WIRING CODE

Green = Earth
Black = Neutral
Red = Phase Or Live

NEW WIRING CODE

Green/Yellow = Earth
Blue = Neutral
Brown = Phase or Live

============DANGER 230VOLT ===============

Electricity can kill.
You should use an Electrical contractor for this repair job,
Caution always turn off power first before touching any wiring,

The Live wires always carry power,from one point to another,
the black neutral is your return path from the live phase wire
the green wire is always the ground ,

In this example

the sensor will have four wires as follows

Green = Earth Wire
Black = Neutral
Brown = Phase (incoming supply) 24 hrs
Red = Phase Load (outgoing supply) from sensor to lights triggered

Notice there are to phases in the circuit.Brown and Red
Always treat them as LIVE or Active Power.

Brown will normally be the Live incoming power and
Red will be the load side of the sensor,

Check the brochure supplied by manufactuers or their website to confirm the wiring order is correct before commencing any installs or repairs,

Always Safety first.
Safe a live today and you'll remembered forever.

Wiring on a RCA RJ-45 wall jack

the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:

1 Blue --- Orange/White
2 Orange --- Orange
3 Black --- Green/White
4 Red --- Blue
5 Green --- Blue/White
6 Yellow --- Green
7 Brown --- Brown/White
8 White --- Brown

I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.
