Did you take the apart the drum? Below is a link to fixing this error - it is not difficult if you are mechanical at all. I'll bet you find a label stuck somewhere in the printer.

Hey Compugirl. Thanks for responding. I took the whole dern thing apart a couple of times. I took the toner out. I took the thing below that (looks like a large peice of film) out and turned the gear to make sure nothing was stuck. Then I even took the excess toner box out. Nada. Still getting an error message!
any ideas? or am i confused about the drum thing?
Its a great first step but it unfortunately hasnt resolved the issue yet. THough, it could be my own incompetence! Yikes!
