MacBook 13" doesn't recognize HD as internal but as external does

MacBook 13" doesn't recognize the HD. I started up using the CD but it does not recognize the HD. If I use the same HD as external it works and the MacBook starts without any difficulty. What can be the problem?

Why does cd rom not conned to my macbook?

I'm not sure about this, because I have an internal CD/DVD in my macbook. But this can be a driver issue. Do you have an Apple CD drive, or an universal USB CD drive? The last one could be very tricky, because the computer needs special drivers, so it can recognise the external drive.

How do you backup, format and reinstall the OS from disc?

Hi, Back up your internal HD to an externa; drive using something like CarbonCopy Cloner or SuperDuper or even make a disc image of it onto the external drive.Insert your installation disc and restart the computer while holding down the C key. After a while you shoulod get the usual start=up signs and you can let go of the C.The Mac should thenm be starting from the CD/DVD and you will get a welcome to mac OS screen asking you what language yu want to work in. Choose whichever and then follow the instructions that appear on screen. Remember though, when you format, everything will be wiped from the HD.

Microsoft Office needs to be compatible with the external microphone. Just because your MacBook recognizes the mic through the adapter doesn't mean OneNote does.

In sound system preferences when the external mic is plugged in, there is a drop down menu in the input tab that says "Use the audio port for:" make sure it says input.

I want to Mac laptops

If you want to buy a Mac laptop, you need to figure out which one is best for you.
  • MacBook Air: Extremely fast, light and portable. No CD/DVD drive. 11" or 13" screen
  • MacBook: The Cheapest. Made of plastic. Good processor, HD, RAM, etc. 13" screen.
  • MacBook Pro: Very fast, made of a single bit of aluminium. Comes in 13", 15" or 17". Lots of ports, lots of RAM and HD space. The most expensive.
You can buy laptops directly via Apple, or through a retailer, or Amazon. Amazon and eBay are good places to look for secondhand Mac Laptops - eBay is where I got the MacBook I'm writing this on.
Hope that helps!

Since no MacBook was ever made with an 8GB hard drive, I have to assume you are reading the capacity of the DVD, which isn't an interesting statistic.
There is no reason your MacBook should not boot from the DVD. Even if the internal drive was physically absent it should still boot from the DVD.
If it is not booting from the DVD, then either your DVD is bad, your optical drive is bad, or you have logic board issues.
