How do i rebuild the voicecoil on my kicker l7 15in speaker

I dont think that kicker has a recone kit available for L7, after they started building the cone as a one piece structure without a dustcap, making it impossible to align the coil in the gap.
Myself, i have considered the possibility of using the carbon fibre maxxonics recone kits, it may need some tweeking to make it work. but will be quite strong and you could try different coil impedences, aluminum formers etc.
if you dont feel adventurous, than you might be able to send in your sub to kicker for service. i think they just send off a new sub to you, at a discount......

How to make a kicker cvx 12 inch dual coal subwoofer 4 into a 2omh

Ok, follow closely. This is called the parralel set up. This is the easy way.

1. Identify the possitive on your amp or box you are installing in. Run the possitives of both voice coils to this. (yes, you will need two lengths of speaker wire)

2. Identify the negative on your amp or box you are installing. Run the negatives of both voice coils to this

How to figure ohms R1 x R2
-----------
R1 + R2 So your load 4x4=16 divided by 4+4=8 16/8 = 2

Ohms loads seem difficult at first, but they are easy if you think about it. We are taught in school that parallel means side by side, right. The same applies for wiring. A parallel set up means that both voicecoils are receiving the power from the source. If you look at your wires when you are done, both wires are "side by side", hence parallel. Now series means going from one thing to the next thing, right. So it is in wiring. Power would go from the source to the positive of one voice coil, the from the negative of that same voice coil to the positive of the next voice coil, then from the negative of that voice coil back to the source. I hope this helps

I have two dvc cvx andbrutus 1608d mono need help

Both Positives on both subs ultimately to + on amplifier
Both Negtives on both subs ultimately to - on amplifier

This will net a 1 ohm mono load for your amplifier.

I wonder if i get two kicker cvx 10 can be push by jl audio 500.1

It can but it'd be a waste for your subs. 1 of those by itself will handle that amp. it'll push them just not really hard, i'd recommend an upgrade to a 1100-1200 watt rms amp if you're gonna run 2 cvx's. if you only run one sub that amp'll work well...

I have 3 Kicker solobarics Hooked to 1 ohm, But

It likely has a blown voicecoil - or the voicecoil is damaged in a certain spot - so when you play a certain frequency it cuts out.

Aso check the integrity of the tinsel wires - if they are loose or hitting the basket, it would stop playing.

BTW - it is impossible to wire a 1 ohm load with (3) single or 4ohm voicecoils.

Be sure your wiring is correct - or the amplifier will be the next thing to go.

DONT KNOW HOW TO RUN 2 OHMS

Hello storres18,

If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX122, with dual 2ohm voice coils, they can be connected to a mono amp at 2ohms. First jumper the voice coils in series, the dotted positive (+) to the undotted negative (-) (or vice versa). Each sub is now 4ohms. Then wire both of the remaining positives and negatives together on the amp terminals (in parallel). The amp sees a 2ohm load. Here's the diagram:

If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX124 with dual 4ohm voice coils, they cannot be wired to present a 2ohm load. They can only be wired as a 1ohm load (too low for the amp) or as a 4ohm load (at reduced power). Here is the diagram of the 4ohm wiring:

Hope this helps.
