My GE Washer WBSR3140 purchased 12/6/05 has a problem with the cold water-only a trickle comes in. The hot comes in great. I have cleaned the screen in the end of the hose. There are no kinks in the hose. What would you suggest? Thank You Don Janisch

Washer will only fill with hot water not warm and if I set it for cold the water just trickles out

Check the hose line filter on the cold water side remove from machine if clogged clean and replace if you don't have a screen filter in hoses and rust or iron gets into water valve you may have to replace valve

Cold water just trickles out to fill machine, warm and hot settings work fine.

Take the cold water hose off of the back of your washer. Right inside where the hose hooks on there is a screen that often will plug with dirt. Sometimes the hoses have a screen but usually they are just inside the fitting of the washer. Clean the dirt out of the screen and you will be back up and working great!!!

Cold water filling

There are filter screens where the supply hoses connect to the washer. On some brands there is a screen where the hose connects to the water valve at the wall. The screen is probably full of sediment.

Hot Water runs in fine but the cold only trickles into Washer,

There are 2 hoses. Hot and cold and if the nobs are not turned wide open then it will not give you the water like you want. Check to make sure that the hot water nob is turned to were the water should come out like the cold. If not that then check the water heater and see if it is set up the way it needs to be.

No Cold Water

THE SOLENOID VAVLE IS DEFECTIVE,NEED TO REPLACE IT, ITS WERE THE HOT AND COLD HOSES CONNECT TO BEHIND THE WASHER WERE YOU CLEANED THE SCREEN. NEED TO TAKE IT OUT AND REPLACE. ITS A ONE PIECE IT SHOULD BE RED OR BLUE OR SUMTHIN LIKE THAT.

GET THE MODEL NO AND SERIAL NO AND SOURCE AROUND FOR A REPLACEMENT PART. ALWAYS GO WITH THE ORIGINAL PARTS SO IT WOULD LAST LONGER, THEN TO MODIFY AND COST YOU MORE MONEY, WHEN IT SHOULDNT.

Whirlpool washer approximately 2 1/2 year old

The screen at the cold water inlet is clogged. Cut off the cold water line and unscrew the line to the washer at the washer. Use a flathead screwdriver and pry out the metal screen that is visible Wash it out in a sink and re-install it. Re-attach the water line, turn it on and your'e good to go. If not you will need a new water inlet valve. These are the only things that can cause your problem unless there is a problem with your cold water supply pressure. Good Luck!!!!!

GE Washing machine cold water barely dribbles in

Yes remove the hose from where it connects to washer look inside water valve and remove plastic screen with needle nose pliers Without damaging it. Also make sure that it gets back in proper as the valve will be damaged without it.
